Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցից հետո թուրքական իշխանությունները որոշում են կայացրել 2016 թվականի Գալիպոլիի ճակատամարտի 101 ամյակի միջոցառումներն ավանդականի պես անցկացնել մարտի 18-ին: Ինչպես հաղորդում է Արմենպրեսը, թուրքական &la quo;Անադոլու» գործակալությունը տեղեկացնում է, որ արդեն արվել է տոնակատարությունների առաջին փորձը: Իսկ միջոցառումների վերջանական փորձերը կարվեն մարտի 16-ին և 17-ին:

2015 թվականին Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցի միջոցառումները ստվերելու նպատակով պաշտոնական Անկարան հայտարարեց Գալիպոլիի 100 ամյակի միջոցառումներ ապրիլի 24-ին անցկացնելու մասին: Նախկինում, սակայն, այդ տոնակատարությունները երբևէ այդ օրը չէին անցկացվել. Գալիպոլիի միջոցառումները նշվել էին մարտի 18-ին: Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանն ավելի քան 100 երկրների ղեկավարների, այդ թվում Հայաստանի նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանին հրավեր էր ուղարկել՝ ապրիլի 24-ին գտնվելու Գալիպոլիում:

Այդուհանդերձ, թուրքական դիվանագիտական հերթական խաղը չպսակվեց հաջողությամբ, քանի որ մեծ տերությունների ղեկավարները գլխավորապես նախընտրեցին 2015 թվականի ապրիլի 24-ին գտնվել Հայաստանում՝ հարգելով Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակը: Իսկ Գալիպոլիի միջոցառումներով Ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցը ստվերելու թուրքական ձախողված հնարքն ապացուցեց, որ Թուրքիայի իշխանությունները դեռևս չունեն անհրաժեշտ քաջություն և քաղաքական հասունություն առերեսվելու պատմական իրողությանը:
