Հուսալքության զգացումը հատուկ է ոչ միայն մարդուն, այլև` կենդանիներին: Օրինակ` Մարչ անունով  պիթբուլը «դեպրեսիայի» մեջ է ընկել, երբ իր համար նոր ընտանիք գտնելու որոշումը կես ճամփին է մնացել։

Ինչպես նշում է The Daily Mail-ը, Ֆիլադելֆիայի անօթևան շների կացարանում պահվող Մարչի համար որոշ ժամանակ առաջ նոր ընտանիք էր գտնվել, ու նրա տեղափոխման հարցը գրեթե լուծված էր համարվում: Սակայն ինչ-ինչ պատճառներով կենդանին կրկին վերադարձվել է  անօթևան շների կացարան. նրան չի հաջողվել նոր ընտանիքի անդամ դառնալ:

Վերադարձից հետո կացարանի աշխատակիցները նկատել են, որ Մարչը շատ տխուր է, հիասթափված, իսկ վերջերս էլ կենդանին դեմքով շրջվել է պատի կողմն ու հրաժարվում է նայել մարդկանց երեսին։
