Ցորեն աճեցնելը վաղուց արդեն դարձել է հայկական Զատիկի անբաժանելի մասը: Այն ոչ միայն գեղեցիկ դեկորացիա է Զատիկի սեղանի համար, այլև գարնանային յուրօրինակ  շունչ է հաղորդում ողջ բնակարանին։

Ցորեն աճեցնելու համար մեզ անհրաժեշտ է`
• Ցորենի հատիկ (լավ կլինի գնել ոչ թե սուպերմարկետներից, այլ շուկայից),
• Հող,
• Տարա, որի խորությունը չպետք է 5սմ-ից քիչ լինի,
• Թղթե անձեռոցիկներ կամ սննդային պոլիէթիլեն:

Ցորենը շարում ենք տարայի մեջ ու ջրում սենյակային ջերմաստիճանի ջրով այնպես, որ այն ցորենը ծածկի 1-2սմ-ով: Այսպես ցորենը պետք է մնա մի քանի օր (ոչնչով պետք չէ ծածկել): Օրերը լրանալուց հետո ցորենը թել է տալիս: Այդ ժամանակ ցորենի հատիկները լցնում ենք թաց անձեռոցիկի վրա և ծածկում սննդային պոլիէթիլենով կամ անձեռոցիկով:

Թողնում ենք ցորենն այդպես մնա մի քանի օր` մինչև 1-2սմ երկարությամբ ծլերի հայտնվելը: Ողջ ընթացքում պետք է ուշադրություն դարձնել անհրաժեշտ խոնավությանը` մշտապես թրջելով ցորենը, որպեսզի անձեռոցիկը չչորանա:

Այնուհետև զամբյուղի կամ այլ տարայի մեջ հող ենք լցնում, որի հաստությունը չպետք է 3սմ-ից քիչ լինի: Ապահովության համար հողի տակ կարող ենք պոլիէթիլեն դնել, որպեսզի ջուրը կամ հողը չթափի զամբյուղի անցքերից: Հողը հավասարեցնում ենք, թրջում, ինչից հետո հավասար և հաստ շերտով լցնում ենք ցորենը:

Այս ամենը ծածկում ենք անձեռոցիկով, թրջում ու փակում պոլիէթիլենով (պոլիէթիլենի թաղանթի վրա մի քանի անցք ենք անում, որպեսզի օդը կարողանա ներթափանցել):
Թողնում ենք այդպես մնա մի քանի օր՝ այդ ընթացքում պարբերաբար ջրելով ցորենը, ապա հանում պոլիէթիլենը, որպեսզի ցորենը բորբոսով չպատվի: Հետագայում շարունակում ենք ջրել ծիլերն ու աճացնում ցորենը ցանկալի բարձրության:

Ցանկության դեպքում ցորենը կարող ենք ձվերով կամ ծաղիկներով զարդարել, կտրել, ձև տալ և այլն:
