Վերջապես գրախանութներում հայտնվեց գրող Աշոտ Աղաբաբյանի` ընթերցողների կողմից վաղուց սպասված «Ռեզիդենտը» վեպը: Այն հրատարակվում է երկրորդ անգամ և համարվում է վերջին տասը տարվա ամենաշատ ու ամենաարագ վաճառված գրքերից մեկը:
Հայ մեծ բանաստեղծ Սիլվա Կապուտիկյանը վեպի մասին գրեց. «Աշոտ Աղաբաբյանի «Ռեզիդենտը» վեպն իր տեսակի մեջ մեր գրականության եզակի գրքերից է. եթե ոչ` ամենաեզակին: Վեպն արժեքավոր է ոչ միայն իր ժանրով և լեզվով, այլև ընթերցողի առաջ բացում է անհրաժեշտության բերումով ցարդ անհայտ մի հայորդու բազմաշերտ կյանքը, մեր հերոսական զավակների պանթեոնն ավելացնում նոր, փառապանծ անունով` Նախիջևանի Ջահրի գյուղի ծնունդ, բայց համաշխարհային տարողությամբ գործունեություն ծավալած Հայկ Հովակիմյանով»:
Իսկ երջանկահիշատակ վարչապետ Անդրանիկ Մարգարյանը վեպը կարդալուց հետո 2006-ին գրառեց. «Աղաբաբյանի «Ռեզիդենտը» գիրքն ընթերցեցի մեկ շնչով: Այն մեր երկրի ու ժողովրդի յուրահատուկ այցեքարտ է, և պետք է նպաստենք, որ այն տպագրվի տարբեր լեզուներով: Գրքի հերոս Հայկ Հովակիմյանը հայորդու պատկառազդու կերպար է: Նրա հերոսական ոդիսականը ոգեշնչող է և ուսանելի նաև այսօրվա երիտասարդության համար: Սա եզակի հաջողված գործ է և պետք է լինի յուրաքանչյուր հայի սեղանի գիրքը»:
Այս գրքում ընթերցողն առաջին անգամ կծանոթանա հայ ժողովրդի արժանավոր զավակի` պետանվտանգության գեներալ-մայոր, քիմիական գիտությունների դոկտոր, 1938-1941 թթ. ԱՄՆ-ում ԽՍՀՄ ռեզիդենտ (հետախուզական ցանցի ղեկավար), 1942-1947 թթ. ԽՍՀՄ ՆԳԺԿ արտաքին հետախուզության պետի տեղակալ, «Էնորմոզի»` ԽՍՀՄ «ատոմային» հետախուզության ղեկավար Հայկ Բադալի Հովակիմյանի խորհրդավոր ու դրամատիզմով հարուստ պատմությանը:
Վեպը վերահրատարակվել է ՀՀ Մշակույթի նախարարության աջակցությամբ:
