ՀՀԿ հիմնադիր-նախագահ Աշոտ Նավասարդյանն այսօր կդառնար 66 տարեկան

 Մարտի 28-ը ՀՀԿ հիմնադիր-նախագահ Աշոտ Նավասարդյանի ծննդյան օրն է: Աշոտ Նավասարդյանը ծնվել է 1950թ. մարտի 28-ին Երեւանում: 18 տարեկանում դարձել է ընդհատակյա հակախորհրդային Ազգային միացյալ կուսակցության` ԱՄԿ-ի, անդամ: Առաջին անգամ նա ձերբակալվել է 1969թ. ամռանը:  Իր համախոհների հետ միասին դատապարտվել է հակապետական խմբի կազմավորման մեղադրանքով: 1971թ. հուլիսին վերադառնում է Երեւան եւ վերականգնում կապերը համախոհների հետ: 1973թ. ընտրվում է ԱՄԿ խորհրդի անդամ:  

Լինելով Գարեգին Նժդեհի դավանած Ցեղակրոնության երդվյալ գաղափարակիրն ու Հայ Դատի պաշտպանության ջատագովը` իր ժողովրդի ապագան կապելով անկախ, ժողովրդավարական պետության կառուցման ու զորացման հետ, նա իր ամբողջ գիտակցական կյանքը նվիրել է խորհրդային տոտալիտար համակարգի դեմ եւ հանուն ազատ, անկախ ու միացյալ Հայաստանի մղվող պայքարին։ Այդ գործունեության համար 1969թ. սկսած խորհրդային իշխանությունների կողմից երեք անգամ դատապարտվել է ազատազրկման՝ շուրջ 12 տարի անցկացնելով բանտերում և ճամբարներում։ 1987-ին, վերադառնալով ազատազրկման վայրից, շարունա կել է քաղաքական պայքարը և 1988-ի ազատամարտի առաջին իսկ օրերից հայտնվել իրադարձությունների կիզակետում։ 1989-ին հիմնադրել եւ ղեկավարել է «Անկախության բանակ» ռազմաքաղաքական կազմակերպությունը, որը մասնակցել է Հայաստանի սահմանների պաշտպանության և Արցախի ազատագրության համար մղված մարտերին` Երասխավանից մինչեւ Մարտակերտ, Քելբաջար, Լաչին, Շուշի և այլն:

Աշոտ Նավասարդյանը պարգեւատրվել է 1-ին աստիճանի Մարտական խաչով։ 1990-ին, ընտրվելով ՀՀ Գերագույն Խորհրդի պատգամավոր, նա գործուն մասնակցություն է ունեցել ԳԽ օրենսդրական աշխատանքներին։ Եղել է ԳԽ Անկախ պետականության հաստատման և ազգային քաղաքականության հարցերի հանձնաժողովի, ԳԽ Սահմանադրական հանձնաժողովի անդամ։ 1995թ.-ից Ազգային Ժողովի պատգամավոր էր, Պաշտպանության, ազգային անվտանգության և ներքին գործերի հանձնաժողովի փոխնախագահ։ 1996 թ. Գերմանիայում մասնակցել է ռազմավարական հետազոտությունների մարշալի կենտրոնի դասընթացներին և ստացել ռազմավ արի որակավորում։ Ականավոր ազգային, քաղաքական գործիչ Աշոտ Նավասարդյանը հանկարծամահ է եղել 1997 թ. նոյեմբերի 3-ին 47 տարեկան հասակում։

Նրա ծննդյան օրվա առթիվ, դեռևս 2012 թվականին, Երևանի թիվ 196 դպրոցում բացվեց Աշոտ Նավասարդյանի թանգարանը, որը կատարում է նաև դպրոցի երեխաների համար ազգային դաստիարակչական կենտրոնի դեր:
