ԱՄՆ Արևելյան ափի մեծատիրաժ թերթերից մեկը` Boston Globe-ն, անդրադարձել է ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի այցին Բոստոն:

Թերթը հաղորդում է նախագահի այցի որոշ մանրամասներ` շեշտելով, որ ՀՀ Նախագահն առաջին անգամ է այցելում արևելյան ափի հայաշատ այս քաղաքը: Նախագահ Սարգսյանի ինքնաթիռը երկուշաբթի վայրէջք է կատարել Բոստոնի Լոգան օդանավակայանում:

«Մարդիկ ոգևորված են: Մեզ համար մեծ պատիվ է նախագահին ողջունել Բոստոնում»,- նշել է Հայկական ժառանգության հիմնադրամի նախագահ Ջեյմս Գալուստյանը` հավելելով, որ հայկական համայնքը Բոստոնում ԱՄՆ ամենակազմակերպվածներից և ամենահներից մեկն է: 

Մարտի 30-ին նախատեսված է ՀՀ նախագահի պաշտոնական ողջույնի արարողությունը Մասաչուսեթսի նահանգային խորհրդարանում, որտեղ Սերժ Սարգսյանին կդիմավորեն նահանգապետ Չարլի Բեյքերը և Բոստոնի քաղաքապետ Մարտին Ուոլշը:

«Աշխարհի առաջնորդները Բոստոնը ճանաչում են որպես համաշխարհային կարգի քաղաք և նորարարական տնտեսության ոլորտում գլոբալ առաջատար… Հպարտ եմ մեր քաղաքում ողջունելու Նախագահ Սարգսյանին»,- ասել է Բոստոսնի քաղաքապետը:

Թերթը նշել է նաև, որ Սերժ Սարգսյանը այցելել է Բոստոնի Հին հյուսիսային եկեղեցի (Old North Church), որտեղ Հայաստանի ղեկավարը ներկա է գտնվել էկումենիկ երկրպագության արարողությանը: Հին հյուսիսային եկեղեցին Բոստոնի տարածքում կանգուն մնացած ամենահին եկեղեցին է:

Ծրագրվում է, որ Սերժ Սարգսյանը կայցելի նաև Բոստոնի Հայկական ժառանգության պուրակ (Armenian Heritage Park), որտեղ ծաղկեպսակ կդնի հուշարձանի մոտ` ի նշանավորումն Հայաստանի Հանրապետության անկախության 25-ամյակի:

Սերժ Սարգսյանը կայցելի նաև Իրավունքի և դիվանագիտության Ֆլեթչերի դպրոց, հանդիպում կունենա համալսարանի ղեկավարության, պրոֆեսորադասախոսական կազմի և «Թավիթյան» հիմնադրամի կրթական ծրագրի մասնակից ՀՀ քաղաքացիների հետ: Հարվարդի համալսարանի Քենեդիի անվան կառավարման դպրոցում Նախագահը հանդես կգա դասախոսությամբ և կհանդիպի հայ ուսանողների ու համալսարանի ղեկավարության հետ: Նախագահը կհյուրընկալվի Մասաչուսեթսի տեխնոլոգիաների ինստիտուտում, կայցելի կրթական այդ հաստատության մեդիա լաբորատորիա, «Սամբերգ» համաժողովների կենտրոնո ւմ հանդիպում կունենա ամերիկահայ գիտնականների հետ: Նախատեսված է նաև Նախագահի հանդիպումը «Լույս» հիմնադրամի կրթաթոշակառուների և շրջանավարտների հետ:
