Ղարաբաղա-ադրբեջանական շփման գծում Ադրբեջանի նախահարձակ գործողությունների հետևանքով վերջին օրերին ընթացող թեժ մարտերի ընթացքում ՀՀ առաջին նախագահ Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանն իրեն դրսևորել է որպես պետական մտածողություն ունեցող գործիչ: Ապրիլի 13-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը նման կարծիք հայտնեց ԱԺ փոխնախագահ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը՝ անդրադառնալով ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի և Առաջին նախագահ Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանի հանդիպմանը: «Մինչև այդ հանդիպումն էլ ես բարձր եմ գնահատել առաջին նախագահի հայտարարությունը, որն ընթերցեց նրանց խմբակցության ղեկավար Լևոն Զուրաբյանը, դա պետական մտածողության ցայտուն օրինակ էր՝ անկախ նրանից ինձ դուր է  գալիս առաջին նախագահի քաղաքականությունը, դուր չի գալիս, մենք համամիտ ենք, թե համամիտ չենք, մի բան փաստ է, որ այս ժամանակաշրջանում՝ պետության և հայրենիքի համար այս վճռական փուլում, Առաջին նախագահն իրեն պահեց որպես երկրի Առա ջին նախագահ և որպես պետական մտածողություն ունեցող գործիչ»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ ասաց Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը:

Հարցին, թե ինքը նախկինում  բազմիցս Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանին համարել է քաղաքական թոշակառու, և արդյոք կտրուկ փոխե՞լ է կարծիքը, Շարմազանովը պատասխանեց. «Իմ կարծիքը կտրուկ փոխվեց կոնկրետ գործողության հետ կապված: Ես անձին չեմ գնահատական տվել, երևույթին եմ գնահատական տվել և՛ նախկինում, և՛ հիմա: Ես շատ փոքր մարդ եմ, որպեսզի իմ երկրի առաջին, երկրորդ կամ երրորդ նախագահներին գնահատականներ տամ, բոլորին է վերաբերում: Ինձ դուր է գալիս, թե դուր չի գալիս, նրանք իմ երկրի նախագահներն են եղել և’ Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանը, և՛ Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանը, և’ գործող նա խագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը»:

ԱԺ փոխնախագահը հույս հայտնեց, որ մի օր Քոչարյանն էլ իր կարծիքը կփոխի և կարևորագույն պահերին կմիանա առաջին և երրորդ նախագահներին: «Տա Աստված, որ երկրորդ նախագահն էլ միանա իրենց, որովհետև այսօր մեր օրակարգում բացառապես միասնություն ձևավորելն է մեր հանրության մեջ: Ես արձագանքել եմ նաև հարգելի պարոն Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանին: Կարծում եմ, որ մի օր էլ ինքը կմտափոխվի և կմիանա համազգային միասնությանը, որովհետև այլ տարբերակ չկա: Մենք պետք է բոլորս լինենք միասնական: Հիմա իրար վրա քարեր շպրտելու ժամանակը չէ, հիմա միավորվելու ժամանակն է»,- ասաց նա:
