Կարեն Դեմիրճյանի անվան մարզահամերգային համալիրում ընթացող «Ընդդեմ ցեղասպանության հանցագործության» երկրորդ գլոբալ համաժողովի աշխատանքներին մասնակցող ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը նիստերի միջև նախատեսված ընդմիջման ժամանակ շփումներ է ունեցել համաժողովի պատվիրակների հետ, զրուցել տարբեր մասնակիցների հետ, ներկայացրել Հայաստանի տեսակետը առանձին հարցերի վերաբերյալ:

Մեր երկրի աշխարհագրական դիրքով պայմանավորված դժվարությունների թեմայի շուրջ խոսելիս Նախագահը, մասնավորապես, ասել է. «Այո՛, Հայաստանի չորս հարևաններից երկուսը մեր երկրի նկատմամբ վարում են թշնամական քաղաքականություն: Չնայած դրան՝ անկախության հռչակումից ի վեր մենք որդեգրել ենք բազմավեկտոր քաղաքականություն՝ փորձելով հարաբերություններ զարգացնել մեր բոլոր հարևանների հետ: Անգամ Թուրքիայի հետ առանց նախապայմանների հարաբերությունների վերականգնման նախաձեռնողը մենք էինք, նախաձեռնություն, որի արդյունքում աշխարհը տեսավ, թե ինչու է իրակ անում փակ հայ-թուրքական սահմանը, ով է նախապայման դնողն ու ինչպիսի իրական գործոն է թուրք-ադրբեջանական՝ մեկ ազգ-երկու պետություն բանաձևը: Իսկ ովքեր մինչ օրս լիովին չեն ընկալել այդ բանաձևի քաղաքական էությունը, ուրեմն կարևոր մի բան բաց են թողել իրենց հաշվարկներում: 
Մենք խաղաղասեր ժողովուրդ ենք. մենք ոչ ոքի չենք ատում և մեր հարաբերությունները որևէ մեկի հետ թշնամանքի ու ատելության վրա չենք կառուցում: Մեր ժողովուրդը կռվել չի սիրում և կռվում է միայն այն ժամանակ, երբ իրեն դա պարտադրում են: Իսկ պարտադրում են այն բանի համար, որ ընդամենն ուզում է սեփական հողի վրա կառուցել սեփական ապագան և ապրել ազատության պայմաններում»:

 ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության եւ տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Նախագահը խոսել է նաև Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հիմնախնդրի լուծման գործընթացում Ռուսաստանի դերակատարության մասին հարցի շուրջ: «Երեկ ես ընդունել եմ Երևանում այցով գտնվող արտգործնախարար Լավրովին, ում ներկայացրել եմ Ադրբեջանի կողմից սանձազերծված լայնածավալ հարձակման արդյունքում ստեղծված իրավիճակից հետո մեր դիրքորոշումը:  Ռուսաստանը, որպես ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահ երկիր, ակտիվ ներգրավված է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հիմնախնդրի խաղաղ կարգավորման գործընթացում: Տարիներ շարունակ մենք այդ գործընթացի պատասխանատու մասնակիցն ենք եղել, փորձել ենք գտնել փոխընդունելի որոշումներ, լինել կառուցողական: Ակնհայտ է, որ Ադրբեջանի կողմից 1994թ. հրադադարի համաձայնագիրը կոպտորեն ոտնահարելը բանակցային գործընթացը մղեց հեռու մի կողմ: Մենք համոզված ենք եղել, որ իսկապես այդ հարցը կարող է լուծվել բացառապես փոխզիջումների հիման վրա, խաղաղ ճանապարհով, բայց այսօր ունենք այլ իրավիճակ: Ոտ նահարվել են զինադադարի և դրա ամրապնդման մասին համաձայնագրերը, արհամարհվել են ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահող երկրներ Ռուսաստանի, ԱՄՆ-ի և Ֆրանսիայի նախագահների համատեղ 5 հայտարարությունները, կատարվել են ռազմական սահմռկեցուցիչ հանցագործություններ. ու մենք հիմա ասում ենք բոլորին՝ մատնացու՛յց արեք ագրեսորին, մատնացու՛յց արեք, որ դասեր քաղվեն ու հնարավոր լինի առաջ շարժվել»,- ասել է Սերժ Սարգսյանը:
