Արտաշատի քաղաքային մարզադաշտում ապրիլի 23-ին անցկացվեց ՀՀ աթլետիկայի բազմակի չեմպիոն Էդիկ Թովմասյանին նվիրված 7-րդ հուշամրցաշարը, որին մասնակցում էին հանրապետության մարզերից եւ Երեւանից ժամանած ավելի քան 250 աթլետներ, որոնք մրցեցին  տղաների եւ աղջիկների վեցական մրցաձեւերում:

Արտաշատի Ռազմիկ Գոլեցյանի անվան օլիմպիական հերթափոխի մարզադպրոցի տնօրեն, աթլետիկայի մարզիչ Գրիգոր Սիմոնյանն«Արմենպրես»-ի թղթակցին հայտնեց, որ100 մ վազք մրցաձեւում չեմպիոններ դարձան գյումրեցի Հայկ Մանուկյանը եւ երեւանցի Գայանե Չիլոյանը, հեռացատկում` վանաձորցի Աղբալյան Ռաֆիկը եւ երեւանցի Յանա Աբրահամյանը, մուրճի նետում մրցաձեւում` երեւանցիներ Վոլոդյա Վանյանն ու Էդիտա Տիգրանյանը, գնդի հրում մրցաձեւում` երեւանցի Հովհաննես Զաքյանը եւ գյումրեցի Մարիամ Մկրտչյանը, նիզակի նետում մրցաձեւում` կրկին Մարիամ Մկրտչյանն ու գյումրեցի Վանիկ Առաքելյանը: Սիմանյանն ընդգծեց նաեւ, որ քանի որ Էդիկ Թովմասյանը համարվում էր սկավառակի նետման առաջատարներից եւ չեմպիոն էր դարձել հենց այդ մրցաձեւում, այս հուշամրցաշարին խաղարկվեց նաեւ գլխավոր մրցանակ սկավառակի նետում մրցաձեւում, եւ չեմպիոններ դարձան արտաշատցի Սաթենիկ Արամյանն ու գյումրեցի Վանիկ Առաքելյանը:

Բոլոր մրցանակային տեղերը զբաղեցրած մարզիկները պարգեւատրվեցին մեդալներով եւ պատվոգրերով, իսկ սկավառակի նետում մրցաձեւի հաղթողները` նաեւ գավաթներով: Գավաթ նվաճեց նաեւ ամենաբարձր արդյունք ցուցաբերած մարզիկը` Գայանե Չիլոյանը: Արտաշատցի մարզիկներն ընդհանուր առմամբ նվաճել են մեկական ոսկե եւ արծաթե, եւ երեք բրոնզե մեդալներ: 

Գրիգոր Սիմոնյանը նշեց, որ տարեցտարի աթլետիկայի մրցումներին ու հուշամրցաշարերին մասնակիցներն ավելի մեծ թիվ են կազմում, ինչը խոսում է այն մասին, որ «սպորտի թագուհու» նկատմամբ սերն աստիճանաբար ավելի է մեծանում: «Երբ նայում եմ պատանիների եւ աղջիկների սպորտային կեցվածքին, հրճվանք եմ ապրում, որ մարզիչները ոչ մի ջանք ու եռանդ չեն խնայում կոփելու երիտասարդ սերնդի ոչ միայն մարմինը, այլեւ հոգին»,-ասաց բազմավաստակ մարզիչը:

Մրցաշարին հետեւեցին ավելի քան 30 մրցավարներ: Գլխավոր մրցավարն էր միջազգային կարգի մրցավար Տիգրան Սիմոնյանը: Միջոցառմանն իրենց ներկայությամբ պատվել էին Էդիկ Թովմասյանի զավակները, ընկերները,ինչպես նաեւ նրանց սաները, հանրապետության վաստակավոր աթլետիստներ, սպորտի վարպետներ:
