 ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսական, Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի զինված ուժերի կոմիտեի անդամ Լորետա Սանչեսը Կոնգրեսում լսումների ժամանակ կոչ է արել հետաքննել «Լեհիի օրենքի» խախտումներն Ադրբեջանի կողմից, որով այդ երկիրը, ԱՄՆ ռազմական աջակցության շնորհիվ միլիոնավոր դոլարներ ստանալով, մարդու իրավունքների լայնածավալ խախտումներ է իրականացրել ապրիլի 2-ից ԼՂ նկատմամբ իրականացրած հարձակումների ժամանակ: Այս մասին տեղեկացրին Հայ դատի ԱՄՆ հանձնախմբից:

Սանչեսն ընդգծել է, որ ստացել է հավաստի տեղեկատվություն Ադրբեջանի զինված ուժերի կողմից մարդու իրավունքների կոպիտ խախտումների վերաբերյալ: «Ես հավատացած եմ, որ ԱՄՆ-ն պետք է հետաքննություն սկսի` պարզելու, թե արդյոք ադրբեջանական ռազմական ուժերը խախտել են «Լեհիի օրենքը»: Մենք` Միացյալ Նահանգները, առաջամարտիկ ենք մարդու իրավունքների հարցում, և չենք կարող մեզ թույլ տալ աջակցել այն զինված ուժերին, որոնք խախտում են մարդու իրավունքները»,- նշել է կոնգրեսականը:

Նա ուշադրություն է հրավիրել Ադրբեջանում մարդու իրավունքների կոպտագույն խախտումների վրա, ինչպես նաև հիշեցրել հայ սպային կացնահարած ադրբեջանցի սպա Ռամիլ Սաֆարովին Իլհամ Ալիևի կողմից ներում շնորհելու փաստը:

Հայ դատի ԱՄՆ հանձնախմբի Արևմտյան շրջանի ղեկավար Նորա Հովսեփյանը ողջունել է ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսականի նման հայտարարությունը: 

«Լեհիի օրենքն» առաջին անգամ ներկայացվել է 1997 թվականին: Այն ԱՄՆ պետդեպարտամենտին և պաշտպանության դեպարտամենտինարգելում է ռազմական օգնություն տրամադրել այն երկրի ռազմական միավորումներին, որն անպատժելի կերպով խախտում է մարդուիրավունքները: Հավատարիմ մնալով ամերիկյան արժեքներին` օրենքն օգնում է երաշխավորելու, որ ԱՄՆ հարկային դոլարները չենօգտագործվում այն զորամիավորումների, արտաքին զինված զորամիավորումների անհատների կամ անվտանգության ուժերի կողմից, ովքերխախտում են մարդու իրավունքներն ու պատերազմական հանցագործություններ են իրականացնում:
