Մամուլի ազատության համաշխարհային օրվա կապակցությամբ մայիսի 3-ին` «Լրագրողներ առանց սահմանների» միջազգային կազմակերպությունը և բազմաթիվ միջազգային հասարակական այլ կազմակերպություններ, խստորեն քննադատել են Ադրբեջանի կառավարությանը` մամուլի և ազատ խոսքի նկատմամբ աննախադեպ չափերի հասնող ոտնձգություններ իրականացնելու համար։

«Սպորտը հանուն իրավունքների» կոալիցիայի ներկայացուցիչները հայտարարել են, որ Ադրբեջանի իշխանություններն անողոքաբար հետապնդում են անկախ լրատվամիջոցներին և բոլոր նրանց, որվքեր համարձակվում են քննադատել: Նրանք ենթարկվում են տարբեր բռնաճնշումների: Կոալիցիայի անդամ կազմակերպությունները կոչ են անում անհապաղ կոնկրետ քայլեր իրականացնել՝ վերականգնելու համար այդ երկրում ազատ խոսքի իրավունքը: Նրանք նաև պահանջել են իշխանություններից ազատ արձակել մինչ օրս Ադրբեջանի բանտերում գտնվող լրագրողներին, բլոգերներին և այլ ակտիվիստների, ովքեր տարիներ շարունակ տարբեր ճնշումների են ենթարկվում Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունների կողմից:

Միջազգային կազմակերպություններն իրենց բողոքն են արտահայտել նաև Ադրբեջանի գլխավոր դատախազության կողմից հարուցված «Մեյդան TV» առցանց լրատվամիջոցի դեմ, որը հիմնադրվել և գործում է Գերմանիայում: Ի դեպ, այն օնլայն հեռարձակվող միակ լրատվամիջոցն է, որին առայժմ հաջողվում է մասամբ այլընտրանքային տեղեկատվություն տրամադրել: Դրա շնորհիվ Ադրբեջանի քաղաքացիները հնարավորություն են ունենում ալիևյան քարոզչամեքենայից բացիմ տեղեկանալ, թե իրականում ինչ տրամադրություններ են տիրում հասարակության շրջանում:

Ի դեպ, Ադրբեջանի իշխանություններին դատապարտող հայտարարության մեջ միջազգային կազմակերպությունները շեշտել են, որ ադրբեջանական իշխանությունները կալանավորում և ճնշում են Գերմանիայում ապրող և աշխատող հեռուստաընկերության աշխատակիցների հարազատներին, որոնք ապրում են Ադրբեջանում՝ նրանց սպառնալով ազատազրկել:

Միջազգային կազմակերպությունները հայտարարել են նաև, որ ադրբեջանական մամուլի ներկայացուցիչների և լրագրողների նկատմամբ բռնությունները, այդ թվում՝ նրանց սպանությունները, մնում են անպատիժ, ինչի հետևանքով ԶԼՄ-ների աշխատակիցները շարունակում են աշխատել վախի մթնոլորտում՝ ամեն վայրկյան իրենց թիկունքում զգալով բռնության ենթարկվելու վտանգի շունչը:

«Սպորտը հանուն իրավունքների» կոալիցիան կոչ է արել նաև Ադրբեջանի իշխանություններին անհապաղ և կոնկրետ քայլեր ձեռնարկել՝ դադարեցնելու համար անկախ ԶԼՄ-ների հանդեպ իրականացվող հետապնդումները, ազատ արձակել ազատազրկված լրագրողներին և Ադրբեջանի կառավարություններին պատասխանատվության ենթարկել իրենց երկրում մարդու իրավունքների միջազգային պարտավորությունների խախտման համար:
