Լոննի Դեւիդ Ֆրանկլին կրտսերը մեղավոր է ճանաչվել 9 կնոջ եւ մեկ աղջկա սպանության համար, որոնք նա կատարել է 10 տարում: Սերիական մարդասպանը, որն աղբատարի վարորդ եւ Լոս Անջելեսի ոստիկանության ավտոտնակի ծառայող է աշխատել, Կալիֆորնիայի ամենասարսափելի սերիական մարդասպաններից մեկն է դարձել, հայտնում է  Americaru-ն:  

Երդվյալներին երկու օրից էլ պակաս ժամանակ է անհրաժեշտ եղել Ֆրանկլինի դատավճիռն արձակելու համար: Նա   The Grim Sleeper մականունը ստացել է սպանությունների միջեւ մեծ ընդմիջման հետեւանքով. այն մոտ  13 տարի է տեւել: Բացի այդ, 1988-ին մի կին ողջ է մնացել նրա հարձակումից հետո: Նա սպանել  1988-ից մինչեւ 2007 թվական:

Դատավճռի կայացման ժամանակ աֆրոամերիկացի Ֆրանկլինը նայել է ուղիղ իր դիմաց եւ լռել է մի քանի րոպե: Սպանվածների ընտանիքի անդամները ջանացել են զսպել ուժեղ հույզերը եւ իրար տխուր շնորհավորել են ամեն  «Մեղավոր է»-ի հետ:

Մայիսի 11-ից Կալիֆորնիայի նահանգի  Գերագույն դատարանը կորոշի պատիժը մարդասպանի համար: Այդ գործընթացում կարող են հանդես գալ  The Grim Sleeper-ի հարձակումների երկու զոհ. 1988-ին ողջ մնացած աղջիկը եւ կինը, որին նա փորձել է առեւանգել եւ բռնաբարել Գերմանիայում` ԱՄՆ-ում զինվորական ծառայության ընթացքում,  1970-ականներին:

Ֆրանկլին Պրինսես Բերտոմյուի ամենաերիտասարդ զոհն ընդամենը  15 տարեկան էր: Ֆրանկլինը գործել է որպես սեքսուալ առեւանգիչ, որը սպանել է իր զոհերին, հետո մարմինները նետել է որպես աղբ: Ոստիկանությանը հաջողվել է բոլոր հանցագործություններն իրար կապել միայն  2010-ին` ԴՆԹ-ի թեստի օգտագործման շնորհիվ:
