Ռումինիայում Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-ամյակին նվիրված միջոցառումների տեղական Հանձնաժողովի հրավերով մայիսի 10-15-ին Ռումինիայում էր գտնվում հրեա պատմաբան, Իսրայելի Բաց համալսարանի ամբիոնի վարիչ պրոֆեսոր Յաիր Աուրոնը (Yair Auron): Մայիսի 11-ին Բուխարեստի Համալսարանական կենտրոնական գրադարանում պրոֆեսոր Յաիր Աուրոնը և ռումինացի պատմաբան, Երեւանյան 2-րդ Գլոբալ ֆորումի մասնակից Սորին Անտոխին (Sorin Antohi) երկխոսությո ւն-քննարկում ունեցան Հայոց ցեղասպանության ու Հոլոքոստի վերաբերյալ, դրանց միջև զուգահեռներ անցկացնելով և նշելով երկու մեծ ողբերգությունների նմանությունները, տարբերություններն ու յուրահատկությունները յուրաքանչյուրի պատմաքաղաքական համատեքստում: Անդրադարձ կատարվեց նաև նորագույն ժամանակների այլ ցեղասպանություններին (Ռուանդա, Սուդան, Մերձավոր Արևելք):

Հանդիպումը, որը ներածական խոսքով բացեց Ռումինիայի Հայոց Միության նախագահ, սենատոր Վարուժան Ոսկանյանը, կրում էր «Մոռացություն, վրեժ և ներում» խորագիրը: «Կարծում եմ, քանի դեռ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը չի ճանաչվել, 20-րդ դարը` իր դառը դասերով հանդերձ, իրապես չի ավարտվելու: Եթե ավարտվել է օրացուցային 20-րդ դարը, իրականում այն չի ավարտվել եւ չի ավարտվելու, մինչեւ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը չճանաչվի ամբողջապես»,- իր խոսքում ասաց «Շշուկների մատյան» վեպի հեղինակը:

Յաիր Աուրոնը, ով նաև հրավիրյալ դասախոս է Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանում, Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչումը համարեց համամարդկային խնդիր: «Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչումն անհրաժեշտ է մարդկությանը, հատկապես հրեա ժողովրդին, քանի որ այն չճանաչելը, ավելի վատ` այն ժխտելը անարգանք է մարդկային կյանքին եւ արժեքներին, անարգանք է Հոլոքոստի զոհերի հիշատակին»,- հայտարարեց հրեա պատմաբանը: Անդրադառնալով Իսրայելի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման խնդրին` նա կարծիք հայտնեց, որ այդ ճանաչումն ինքն առայժմ հնարավոր է համարում Կնեսեթի մակարդակ ով` այն էլ բարենպաստ հանգամանքների դեպքում: Բանախոսի տեսակետն այն էր, որ Իսրայելի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության պաշտոնական ճանաչման հապաղումը ստվեր է ձգում հենց Հոլոքոստի զոհերի հիշատակին, քանզի մարդկային տառապանքը հնարավոր չէ չափել` գերապատվություն տալով այս կամ այն իրողությանը կամ շեշտադրելով դրանցից լոկ մեկի եզակիությունը: Նա բերեց կոնկրետ օրինակներ, թե ինչպես են Եվրոպայում հայերը հարյուրավոր հրեաների փրկել նացիստական հետապնդումներից` նրանց տրամադրելով ապաստան կամ փաստաթղթեր: Հանդիպման ավարտին բանախոսները պատասխանեցին ներկանե րի հարցերին: 

Միջոցառմանը ներկա էին Ռումինիայում ՀՀ դեսպան Համլետ Գասպարյանը, Ռումինիայի Հայոց թեմի առաջնորդ Տաթև եպս. Հակոբյանը, ՌՀՄ նախագահ Վարուժան Ոսկանյանը, Ռումինիայի Հրեական համայնքների նախագահ, պատգամավոր Աուրել Վայները (Aurel Veiner), Բուխարեստի Հրեական համայնքի նախագահ Պաուլ Շվարցը (Paul Schwartz), սենատոր Կրիստիանա Անգելը (Cristiana Anghel), պատմաբաններ, լրագրողներ, հայկական ու հրեական համայնքների ներկայացուցիչներ, ուսանողներ: 

Բուխարեստից հետո Յաիր Աուրոնը մեկնեց Կլուժ, ուր մայիսի 12-ին Հայոց ցեղասպանության, Հոլոքոստի ու 20-21-րդ դարերում մարդկության դեմ ուղղված այլ հանցագործությունների մասին երկխոսությունը շարունակվեց քաղաքի Արվեստի թանգարանում, Բաբեշ-Բոլյայի համալսարանի պրոֆեսոր, համալսարանի Հայագիտության ինստիտոտի տնօրեն դոկտոր Լուչիան Նաստասա-Կովաչի (Lucian Nastasă-Kovács) եւ պրոֆեսոր Մայքլ Շաֆիրի (Michael Shafir) հետ: Կլուժում կայացած այս հանրային գիտաժողովը կազմակերպվել էր Ռումինիայի Հայոց Միության կողմից` հայագիտության ինստիտուտի ու Կլուժ-Նապոկայի Արվեստի թանգարանի հետ համատեղ:

Յաիր Աուրոնն այցելեց նաեւ Կլուժին մերձական Գեռլա` պատմական Արմենոպոլիս քաղաք: 

Հրեա պատմաբանի մասնակցությամբ Հայոց ցեղասպանությանը նվիրված միջոցառումները լուսաբանվեցին ռումինական մամուլում եւ հեռուստատեսությամբ:
