Կարեն Քոչարյանը իր ֆեյսբուքյան էջում գրել է.Մի քանի օրից իմ Երևանի ծննդյան օրն է: Ես սիրում եմ իմ քաղաքը գժի պես: Սիրել եմ 70-ականներին, երբ երեխա էի, սիրել եմ 80-ականներին, երբ ուսանող էի, սիրում էի 90-ականներին, երբ արդեն քչերն էին սիրում, սիրում էի 2000-ականներին, երբ ծնող դառա, իսկ Երևանը սկսվեց փոխվել, սիրում եմ այսօր և կսիրեմ միշտ: Ճիշտ հասկացեք, չեմ ասում, որ իմ քաղաքը հիմա լավը չէ: Իր բոլոր լավ ու վատ կողմերով Երևանը ինձ համար ամենալավն է, բայց ես կարոտում եմ Սայաթ-Նովայի մրգատու ծառերը, որոնք ապրիլ-մայիս ամիսներին գունավորում էին այդ փողոցը, կարոտում եմ Սայթ-Նովա-Խանջյան խաչմերուկի պիշկիանոցի ՊԻՇԿԻՆ(հիմա այդ տեղում Սայաթ-Նովա անհասկանալի համալիրն է), կարոտում եմ Ֆլորա սրճարանի սեղանի շորի հոտը և վռռիկ սուրճը (հիմա այդտեղ հերթական ՍԱՍ սուպերմարկետն է), կարոտում եմ կինո Մոսկվան ու Երևան ռեստորանը, որտեղ գրեթե ամեն օր կարելի էր հանդիպել Ֆռունզին ու Շերենցին (հիմա այնտեղ շքեղ Գոլդեն թյուլիփ հյուրանոցն է), կարոտում եմ <կռծած կուկուռուզի> Զելյոնի բառը, որտեղ ֆիլֆակի ու կոնսի աղջիկների հետ շամպայն էինք խմում (հիմա այնտեղ ավազի հանք է), կարոտում եմ Կամերային թատրոնի ներկայացում ները, որտեղ խաղում էին Միքայել Պողոսյանը, Թոխատյան Հրանտը, Լիվշից Բորյան, Ավակիմով Միշան և մնացածները (հիմա այնտեղ յեսիմ ով է խաղում), կարոտում եմ այն բակերը, որտեղ նարդի ու պաղկվոցի էին խաղում (հիմա այդ բակերում բազմաֆունկցիոնալ շենքեր են կառուցում), կարոտում եմ այն քաղաքը, որտեղ ռաբիզ երգիչին կարելի էր միայն զապիսնոցում լսել, (հիմա բոլոր ռաբիզները հեռուստատեսային աստղեր են): Մի խոսքով, կարելի էր նորը կառուցել չքանդելով հինը, ինչպես դա արվում է ողջ քաղաքակիրթ աշխարհում: Բայց անգամ այս կարգավիճակով ես սիրում եմ իմ ՔԱՂԱՔԸ:
