Հայաստանը պատրաստ է վճռական քայլերի, և գոնե ինձ մոտ տպավորություն ստեղծվեց, որ հակառակորդի հերթական ռազմական ագրեսիայի դեպքում Հայաստանի ղեկավարությունը` նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի գլխավորությամբ տրամադրված է ավարտին հասցնել պաշտոնական ճանաչման գործընթացը, ընդ որում, այս հարցում կա նաև քաղաքական լայն կոնսոլիդացիա: 
Հայկական կողմը ժամանակավորապես առկախեց ճանաչման հարցը, իսկ Ալիևը Վիեննայում պարտավորվեց շարունակել բանակցային գործընթացը. սրանք սերտ կապված և միմյանց փոխպայմանավորող գործընթացներ էին:
Հարց է առաջանում, եթե Ալիևը այդքան վստահ էր իր ռազմական ներուժի և հնարավորությունների վրա, ապա ի՞նչու դադարեցրեց ակտիվ ռազմական գործողությունները, կամ ինչու՞ հերթական լայնամասշտաբ սադրանքը չհրահրեց, որից հետո Հայաստանը կճանաչեր Արցախը , և բնական է, որ ՀՀ-ի մասնակցությունը հարցի լուծմանն ուղղված բանակցություններին այլևս անիմաստ կդառնար, ընդ որում, այդ դեպքում ադրբեջանական կողմը կարող էր ապակողմնորոշել միջազգային հանրությանը և հայկական կողմին մեղադրել Արցախի ճանաչումով բանակցային գործընթացը տապալելու մեջ ` այդպիսով փորձելով արդարացնել իր կողմից սանձազերծվող պատերազմը :
Ինչպես տեսանք, տեղի ունեցավ ճիշտ հակառակը. պաշտոնական Բաքուն խորը անհանգստության նշաններ ցույց տվեց, որից կարող ենք որոշակի հետևություններ անել, և ենթադրել, որ Ալիևը գոնե այս պահին վստահ չէ ռազմական տարբերակի արդյունավետության վրա , պատրաստ չէ «այրել բոլոր կամուրջները», ամենևին ցանկություն չունի տեսնել Արցախի ճանաչումը Հայաստանի կողմից, և նպատակահարմար է գտնում այս փուլում շարունակել բանակցությունները:
Քառօրյա պատերազմական գործողություններից հետո, իրադարձությունների ժամանակագրական դինամիկային մեջ, կարծում եմ, մայիսի 16-ը հնարավոր հետևանքների առումով ամենապայթյունավտանգն էր, հաշվի առնելով այն հանգամանքը, որ Ազգային ժողովում քննարկվում էր Արցախի ճանաչումը օրակարգ մտցնելու հարցը, իսկ Վիեննայում ` բանակցությունները շարունակելու հեռանկարը: 
Մայիսի 16-ից հետո մինչ օրս լարվածության համեմատական թուլացում է նկատվում, և այս թանկ ժամանակը պետք է ճիշտ օգտագործել և դիվանագիտական , և ռազմական ճակատում:
