Եվրամիությունը պահանջում է, որ Թուրքիան առանց բացառության կատարի կարճաժամկետ այցելությունների համար անվիզա ռեժիմ ստանալու համար անհրաժեշտ բոլոր 72 պահանջները։ Այս մասին հայտնել է Եվրահանձնաժողովի նախագահ Ժան Կլոդ Յունկերը, փոխանցում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»-ն։

«Մենք հաստատուն ենք մեր դիրքորոշման մեջ, եւ կարիք չկա դա կրկնել մեր թուրք գործընկերների համար»,- ասել է նա Լյուքսեմբուրգում ԵՄ անդամ երկրների խորհրդարանների խոսնակների կոնֆերանսի ժամանակ։

Թուրքիայի նախագահի խորհրդական Յիգիթ Բուլութն ավելի վաղ հայտնել էր, որ Անկարան կարող է կասեցնել Եվրամիության հետ բոլոր համաձայնագրերը, եթե ԵՄ-ն շարունակի «կրկնակի չափանիշների» քաղաքականությունը։

Մայիսի սկզբին Եվրահանձնաժողովը Եվրախորհրդարանին եւ Եվրոպայի խորհրդին առաջարկել էր հանել Թուրքիայի քաղաքացիների համար վիզային սահմանափակումները, եթե Անկարան մինչեւ հունիսի վերջը կատարի վիզայի չեղարկման համար բոլոր նախապայմանները։ Դրանց թվում են կաշառակերության կանխարգելման միջոցները, Եվրոպոլի հետ օպերատիվ համագործակցության մասին բանակցությունները, ԵՄ անդամ երկրների հետ դատական համագործակցությունը, ահաբեկչության դեմ պայքարի մասին օրենսդրության վերանայումը։
