Աբխազիայի վարչապետ Արթուր Միկվաբիան հայտարարել է, որ հանրապետությունը մտադիր չէ Ռուսաստանին միավորվելու շուրջ հանրաքվե անցկացնել: Այս մասին գրում է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:

Նրա խոսքով, Սուխումը չի ծրագրում հետեւել Հարավային Օսիայի օրինակին, որտեղ համապատասխան հանրաքվեն անցկացվելու է 2017 թվականին: «Օսերն առանձին ժողովուրդ են, նրանց մի մասն այժմ բնակվում է Ռուսաստանում, մյուս մասը՝ Հարավային Օսիայում: Այդ պատճառով ցանկանում են միավորվել»,- պարզաբանել է Միկվաբիան:

Վարչապետը հավելել է, որ Աբխազիայի պարագայում իրադրությունն այլ է. «Մենք ցանկանում ենք անկախ պետություն լինել, միաժամանակ՝ մեծ Ռուսաստանի հուսալի եւ հավատարիմ դաշնակիցը մնալ»:

Ապրիլի 11-ին Հարավային Օսիայի նախագահ Լեոնիդ Տիբիլովը հայտարարել էր, որ հանրապետության իշխանությունները չեն կասկածում հանրաքվեի արդյունքի հարցում: Իսկ ավելի վաղ Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը նշել էր, որ Վրաստանը Հարավային Օսիան կորցրեց նախկին նախագահ Միխայիլ Սահակաշվիլիի մեղքով: Նա նաեւ հավելել էր, որ ՌԴ-ն չի կարող դեմ հանդես գալ միավորման մասին հանրաքվե անցկացնելու՝ օսերի ցանկությանը:

Հարավային Օսիան մասամբ անկախ հանրապետության կարգավիճակ ունի. այն Վրաստանից անկախություն է հռչակել 1991 թվականին: Շրջանի՝ որպես անկախ պետության կարգավիճակը ճանաչել են միայն Ռուսաստանը, Վենեսուելան, Նիկարագուան, Նաուրուն եւ Տուվալուն:
