 Աշխարհում միջուկային սպառազինությունների կրճատման գործընթացը դանդաղ Է շարժվում, միջուկային տերությունները շարունակում են դրանց արդիականացումը: Այս մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ասված Է միջուկային սպառազինությունների վիճակի վերաբերյալ հերթական զեկույցում, որը հրապարակել Է Ստոկհոլմի խաղաղության հիմնախնդիրների հետազոտության միջազգային ինստիտուտը (ՍԻՊՌԻ): 

«Չնայած սպառազինությունների քանակի՝ տեղի ունեցող կրճատմանը, միջուկային սպառազինության բնագավառում իրական առաջընթացի հեռանկարներն առայժմ աղոտ են: Բոլոր միջուկային տերությունները շարունակում են միջուկային զսպումը դարձնել իրենց ազգային անվտանգության ապահովման ռազմավարության անկյունաքարը»,- նշում Է ՍԻՊՌԻ-ի «Միջուկային սպառազինությունների ծրագրի» ղեկավար Շենոն Քայլը:         

2016 թվականի սկզբի դրությամբ ինը միջուկային տերությունների՝ ԱՄՆ-ի, Ռուսաստանի, Մեծ Բրիտանիայի, Ֆրանսիայի, Չինաստանի, Հնդկաստանի, Պակիստանի, Իսրայելի եւ Հյուսիսային Կորեայի ընդհանուր օպերատիվ զինանոցը կազմել Է 4,1 հազար ծավալված միավոր: Առանձին մարտագլխիկների հաշվառմամբ այս ցուցանիշը կազմում Է 15 հազար 395 միավոր (2015 թվականի սկզբին՝ 15 հազար 850 միավոր):  

Փաստաթղթում նշված Է, որ կրճատման ուղղությամբ դրական արդյունքները ձեռք են բերվել հիմնականում Ռուսաստանի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմավարական միջուկային սպառազինությունների թվաքանակի նվազեցման շնորհիվ: Այս երկու երկրներին բաժին Է ընկնում համաշխարհային միջուկային զինանոցի ավելի քան 93 տոկոսը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
