Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահի հանրապետական թեկնածու Դոնալդ Թրամփը ստիպված է եղել այս շաբաթ մեկ օրով դադարեցնել իր նախընտրական պայքարը. պատճառը՝ հայտնի ամերիկահայ խոհարար, ռեստորանների խոշոր ցանցի հիմնադիր Ջեֆրի Զաքարյանի դեմ Թրամփի հարուցած դատական հայցն էր, հաղորդում է «Ամերիկայի ձայնը»: 

Բանն այն է, որ Զաքարյանը, լսելով Թրամփի հայտարարությունները մեքսիկացիների հասցեին, խախտել էր վերջինիս հետ նախկին պայմանավորվածությունը, եւ հրաժարվել Վաշինգթոնում կառուցվող Թրամփի նոր շքեղ հյուրանոցում բացել իր ցանցի ռեստորաններից մեկը: Դոնալդ Թրամփի կարծիքով, խախտելով գործարքը, Ջեֆրի Զաքարյանը իրեն տասը միլիոն դոլարի վնաս է հասցրել, որն էլ գործարարը պահանջում է հայտնի խոհարարից՝ որպես փոխհատուցում:

Վաշինգտոնի դատարանն այս շաբաթ հրահանգել էր Թրամփին անձամբ բացատրություններ տալ դատական հայցի կապակցությամբ: Դատարանի այս որոշումը Թրամփի կողմնակիցների քննադատությանն էր արժանացել, քանի որ թեկնածուն ստիպված է եղել մեկ օրով դադարեցնել նախընտրական պայքարը: Վաշինգթոնում Թրամփը, հետեւելով դատարանի որոշմանը, անձամբ այցելել է Զաքարյանի շահերը ներկայացնող իրավաբանական ընկերություն, եւ երկու ժամ շարունակ մանրամասներ ներկայացրել խոհարարի դեմ իր դատական հայցի կապակցությամբ: Մուտքի մոտ կողմնակիցներից բացի, Թրամփին սպասում էին նաեւ արդեն ավանդական դարձած հակառակորդները, որոնք հանրապետական թեկնածուին կոչ էին անում վերջ դնել ատելությանը՝ բացականչելով անգլերեն եւ իսպաներեն լեզուներով:

Հիշեցնենք, որ Զաքարյանը հրաժարվել էր Թրամփի շքեղ հյուրանոցում բացել իր ռեստորանն այն բանից հետո, երբ Դոնալդ Թրամփը, ոմանց կարծիքով, նվաստացուցիչ հայտարարություններով էր հանդես եկել մեքսիկացիների հասցեին: Զաքարյանն ասել է, որ իր աշխատակիցների երեք-չորրորդը Մեքսիկայից եկած ամերիկացիներ են, ուստի, ինքը չէր կարող աշխատել մեքսիկացիներին դատապարտող մեկի հետ: Համաձայնությունը խախտելու համար խոհարարը չի զղջում: «Փոխարենը ես գիշերները հանգիստ եմ քնում», ասել է նա:
