Մայր Աթոռ Ս. Էջմիածնում հունիսի 24-ի երեկոյան տեղի ունեցավ Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի ու Հռոմի Սրբազան Քահանայապետ Նորին Սրբություն Ֆրանցիսկոս Պապի հանդիպումը, որին ներկա էին Կաթոլիկ Եկեղեցու պատվիրակությունը, Հայ Եկեղեցու եպիսկոպոսաց դասը, Հայաստանից և Սփյուռքից ժամանած թեմակալ առաջնորդներ և առաջնորդական տեղապահներ:

Հանդիպմանը Վեհափառ Հայրապետը բարի գալուստ մաղթեց Հռոմի Սրբազան Քահանայապետին աստվածաշնչյան Հայոց երկիր և Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածին` իր եղբայրական սերն ու բարեմաղթանքները փոխանցելով նաև պատվիրակության անդամներին: Այս մասին  տեղեկանում ենք Մայր Աթոռի տեղեկատվական համակարգից:

«Այսօր ուրախություն է մեր տանը և մեր հոգիներում, քանզի Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածին է այցելել սիրեցյալ մեր եղբայրը, որի հանդեպ առանձնակի ջերմ վերաբերմունք ունի հայ ժողովուրդը: Դրա վառ վկայություն է նաև մեր աշխարհասփյուռ թեմերի բաձրաստիճան հոգևորականների ներկայությունը, ովքեր եկել են իրենց համայնքների հավատացյալների հետ: Ձեր այցը մեր ժողովուրդը դիտարկում է որպես առիթ և հնարավորություն իր երախտագիտության զգացումներն արտահայտելու մեր ժողովրդի,  Հայ Եկեղեցու և պետության նկատմամբ Ձեր ջերմ վերաբերմունքի համար: Մենք այս նվիրական սրբավայրում մեր աղոթքն ենք բարձացնում դեպի երկինք` հայցելով, որ Տերը Ձեզ քաջառողջ երկար տարիներ պարգևի` առաջնորդելու համար Հռոմեական Կաթոլիկ Եկեղեցին, Քույր Եկեղեցիների հոգևոր առաջնորդների և հավատացյալների հետ իրականացնելու և արդյունավորելու Քրիստոսի Սուրբ Եկեղեցու առաքելությունը` ի սեր առավել բարօր ու խաղաղ աշխարհի և  մարդկության երջանկաբեր կյանքի»,- նշեց Գարեգին Բ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը:

Իր հերթին Հռոմեական Կաթոլիկ Եկեղեցու առաջնորդ Ֆրանցիսկոս Պապը եղբայրական սիրո և ջերմ ընդունելության համար շնորհակալություն հայտնեց Վեհափառ Հայրապետին ` շեշտելով, որ Ս. Էջմիածնում ինքն իրեն զգում է ինչպես տանը: Գարեգին Բ Վեհափառի խոսքում կարևորելով միասնական աղոթքն ու խաղաղությունը` Հռոմի Սրբազան Քահանայապետը հավելեց, որ իբրև Եկեղեցիներ` կոչված են այդ խաղաղության քարոզիչները լինելու:  

Հավարտ հանդիպման տեղի ունեցավ երկու Եկեղեցիների պատվիրակությունների փոխադարձ ներկայացում և կատարվեց նվերների փոխանակում:

Այցի առիթով Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Հռոմի Սրբազան Քահանայապետին ընծայեց Ս. Պատարագի սկիհ, որի երկու կողմերում պատկերված են Վատիկանի Ս. Պետրոսի Տաճարն ու Ս. Էջմիածնի Մայր Տաճարը, երկու Եկեղեցիների հիմնադիր սուրբ առաքյալները: Նորին Սրբությունը Սրբազան Քահանայապետին նվիրեց նաև նաև Հայոց Ցեղասպանության նահատակների սրբապատկեր և Ֆրանցիսկոս Պապի դիմապատկերի մանրաքանդակ: Իսկ Հռոմի Պապը Վեհափառ Հայրապետին նվիրեց Ս. Աստվածածնի խճանկար:

Վերջում Ֆրանցիսկոս Պապն արձանագրություն թողեց Վեհարանի Հիշողությունների մատյանում:

Հանդիպումից հետո տեղի ունեցավ երկու Հովվապետերի առանձնազրույցը:
