«Դրական է այն, որ Վիեննայի հանդիպումից մեկ ամիս անց ռուսական կողմի նախաձեռնությամբ Սանկտ Պետերբուրգում տեղի է ունեցել հերթական հանդիպումը: Մենք այդ հանդիպումը դրական ենք գնահատում»,- հայտնել է Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը` խոսելով Պետերբուրգի հանդիպման արդյունքների մասին: Այս մասին հաղորդում է ադրբեջանական «APA» գործակալությունը:

Ըստ նրա, պետերբուրգյան հանդիպումն ունեցել է դրական արդյունքներ.«Հույս ունեմ, որ գործընթացը կշարունակվի արագընթաց տեմպով: Մենք կրկին գնում ենք բանակցությունների առանց որևէ նախապայմանների»:

Անդրադառնալով ԵԱՀԿ գործող նախագահի անձնական ներկայացուցչի առաքելության ընդլայնմանն` Ալիևը հայտնել է, որ առաքելության անդամների թիվը կարող է 6-ից հասնել մինչև 14-ի: Նա անիմաստ է համարել հետաքննության մեխանիզմների ներդրումը շփման գծում: Ըստ նրա նման մեխանիզմներ կարող են ներդրվել, եթե բանակցությունների ընթացքում «հայտնի դառնան ադրբեջանական տարածքների ազատման ժամկետները»:

Պետերբուրգյան հանդիպումն ամփոփելուց զատ Ալիևը հայտարարել է, որ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը երբեք չի կարող ստանալ անկախություն, սակայն կարող է ստանալ հատուկ կարգավիճակ Ադրբեջանի տարածքում, ինչպիսին օրինակ Նախիջևանի ինքնավար հանրապետությունն է: Ըստ նրա, Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի որևէ կարգավիճակ չի կարող խախտել Ադրբեջանի «տարածքային ամբողջականությունը»:
