Աշխարհում նիհարելու և նիհար կազմվածքի համատարած քարոզ է տարվում: Սակայն գիտակից ու սթափ մարդիկ շատ լավ հասկանում են, որ եթե նույնիսկ իրենց մարմինը կատեգորիկ տարբերվում է ամսագրերի շապիկներից  ու հեռուստաէկրաններից երևացող նիհար մարմիններից՝  դա դեռ չի նշանակում որ իրենց մարմինը գեղեցիկ չէ: Սակայն կան նաև այնպիսինները, որոնք շատ հեշտ են իրենց վրա կրում ուրիշների ազդեցությունները: Խոցելի այդ խմբում հիմնականում դեռահասներն են: Ավստրալուհի Ջեմմի Ուոկերի պատմությունն իսկապես մտածելու տեղիք է տալիս բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր հենց այս պահին զբաղված են նիհարելու գործով: Ջեմմին ընդամենը 14 տարեկան էր, երբ նրան ծայրահեղ ծանր վիճակում տեղափոխեցին հիվանդանոց:

Աղջկա մոտ ախտորոշվեց կրիտիկական սանդղակին հասած անորեքսիա: Աղջկա քաշն ընդամենը 26 կգ էր: Բժիշկները աղջկան 48 ժամվա կյանք էին միայն երաշխավորում, քանի որ նրա օրգանիզմը ծայրահեղ հյուծված էր ու գրեթե ոչ մի օրգան համակարգ նորմալ չէր գործում: «Ես առավոտյան արթնանում էի ու շտապում լսելու նրա շնչառությունը, որովհետրև կարծում էի, թե նա արդեն մահացել է»,-ասում է Ջեմիի հայրը: Ու չնայած ոչ մի հեռանկար չկար, բժիշկները անցնում են Ջեմմիին փրկելու գործին:  Սկզբնական շրջանում Ջեմմին պիտի ուտեր շատ, անկանոն ու հնարավորինս բարձր կալորիականությամբ սնունդ /6000 կալորիա էր ուտում ամեն սեղան նստելուց/, ինչը աղջկա մոտ փսխումներ ու հալյուցինացիաներ էր առաջացնում, սակայն այս տառապանքների արդյութնում մի քանի ամսվա մեջ Ջեմմիի քաշը հասնում է 40 կգ-ի: Հարազատների երջանկությունը սակայն Ջեմմին չէր կիսում, նա թույլ էր, ուներ վատ ինքնազգացողություն և տառապում էր դեպրեսիայից: նա դեռ երկար ապաքինման ճանապարհ պիտի անցներ: Այդպես էլ եղավ, աղջկա վերջանական կազդուրման համար պահանջվեց 7 տարի:

 

 Այժմ 22 ամյա Ջեմմին երջանիկ է ու շնորհակալ իր հարազատների ու Աստծուն, որ ողջ է: Այս համակրելի շիկահերին այսօր նայողը չի պատկերացնի, որ ընդամենը մի քանի տարի առաջ աղջիկը 26 կիլոգրամանոց քայլող կմախք էր: Նա սիրով ու հպարևտությամբ է սոցցանցերում կիսվում իր լուսանկարներով:  Ջեմմիի հայրը երջանիկ է, նա հաճախ է կիսվում, որ ժամանակին արդեն հասցրել էր հաշտվել իր աղջկա կորստի մտքի հետ ու անգամ մի քանի անգամ հրաժեշտի նամակներ էր գրել Ջեմմիին: Հուսանք որ այս պատմությունը սթափության կոչ կլինի բոլոր այն դեռահաս աղջիկների համար, որոնք նիհար ու վտիտ մարմին ունենալու հիվանդագին ձգտում ունեն:
