Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորման բանակցություններում չի քննարկվել ու չի քննարկվի Ադրբեջանի կազմում ԼՂ ինքնավարության հարցը, ինչպես ներկայացնում է ադրբեջանական կողմը: 

Գերմանիայի արտգործնախարարի հետ մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ հայտարարեց ՀՀ ԱԳ նախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը` անդրադառնալով հարցադրմանը, որ Ալիևը Սանկտ Պետերբուրգի հանդիպումից հետո Բաքվում հայտարա րել է, որ կողմ կլինի Արցախի ինքնավարությանը, ինչպես Նախիջևանի դեպքում է, ու իբրև թե հանդիպմանը խոսել են այդ մասին:

«Ադրբեջանի հետ ամեն հանդիպումից հետո եռանախագահները հարց են տալիս` արդյո՞ք այս անգամ հնարավոր կլինի հարգել այն պայմանավորվածությունները, որոնք ձեռք էին բերվել բանակցությունների ժամանակ: Ես միշտ ասում եմ` սպասենք մինչև Ալիևը վերադառնա Բաքու, տեսնենք ինչ շինծու վարկածներ կներկայացնի, դրանից էլ հետևություններ կանենք:

Այսօր Ադրբեջանը փաստորեն անում է այն, ինչ եռանախագահող երկրներից մեկը ընդգծեց` փորձում է պարանը քաշել իր կողմ, կամ ինչ-որ ձևով հանրային կարծիք ձևավորել, որ այդ պայմանավորվածությունները իրենց ի նպաստ են»,-ասաց Նալբան դյանը` շեշտելով, որ նման մոտեցումները  չեն կարող օգտակար լինել բանակցությունների ընթացի համար:

Հիշեցնելով, որ ժամանակին հայաշատ Նախիջևանն այսօր ամբողջովին հայաթափված է, իսկ դարավոր մշակույթը` ոչնչացված` Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը նկատեց, որ Ալիևն այսօր այն օրինակ է բերում որպես Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի  հեռանկար: «Սա լավագույն օրինակներից է, թե ինչու սա չի կարող լինել բանակցությունների առարկա ու չի էլ լինի: Եռանախագահողները ամենաբարձր` նախագահների մակարդակով մշտապես նշել են, որ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի վերջնական կարգավիճակը պետք է որոշի ժողովուրդը ազատ կամարտահայտման միջոցով, որը պետք է ունենա միջազգային իրավական ուժ: Սա է ասում Հայաստանը, ս ա են ասում եռանախագահող երկրները ամենաբարձր մակարդակով»,-եզրափակեց Նալբանդյանը:

ՀՀ ԱԳ նախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանի հրավերով հունիսի 29-30-ը  Հայաստան է այցելելԳերմանիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար, ԵԱՀԿ գործող նախագահ Ֆրանկ-Վալտեր Շտայնմայերը: Գերմանիայի արտգործնախարարին կընդունի Հանրապետության Նախագահը։ 

Հունիսի 29-ին Հայաստանի և Գերմանիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարարների բանակցություններից հետո Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանն ու Ֆրանկ-Վալտեր Շտայնմայերը հանդես եկան համատեղ մամլո ասուլիսով։
