Անցած ուսումնական տարում մայրաքաղաքում հիմնական դպրոցն ավարտել է 6 հազար 868 աշակերտ: Հանրակրթական դպրոցներում ուսումնասիրության արդյուքներով` գերազանցության վկայական է ստացել 374 հավակնորդներից 200-ը:
Երևանի քաղաքապետարանի ենթակայությամբ գործում է 159 կրթական հաստատություն, այդ թվում՝ 144 հիմնական դպրոց, 12 միջնակարգ դպրոց, որից երկուսը՝ կրթահամալիր («Հ. Կոջոյան», չորս հատուկ դպրոց` հ.8 կրթահամալիր` խոսքի ծանր խանգարում ունեցող երեխաների համար, կույրերի երեկոյան մեկ դպրոց (գործում են 6-12-րդ դասարաններ), ինչպես նաև h.2 և h.6 դպրոցները`մտավոր թերզարգացում ունեցող երեխաների համար:
Սա առավել վատ ցուցանիշ է, քան եղել է անցած տարի: Պատկերացնու՞մ եք, ավանդաբար կրթական բարձր ցուցանիշներ արձանագրած Հայաստանի մայրաքաղաքում մեկ դպրոցին ընկնում է ընդամենը... 1.25 գերազանցիկ: Սա այն դեպքում, երբ իմ սովորելու տարիներին, ասենք, Նոյեմբերյանի միայն մեկ դպրոցը տարին ունենում էր առնվազն 20-25 գերազանց շրջանավարտ: Սա հեռավոր շրջկենտրոնի մեկ դպրոցում միայն, իսկ ավանդաբար ամբողջ շրջանից հարյուրավոր գերազանցիկներ էին ավարտում:
Այժմ, երբ զանազան կրթական ծրագրերն ու նորահայտ տեխնոլոգիական հնարավորությունները, թվում է, առավել դյուրին և մատչելի պետք է դարձնեին կրթությունը՝ մենք արձանագրում ենք տխուր ցուցանիշներ: Արդյո՞ք մենք հետևություններ անում ենք այս խայտառակ ցուցանիշներից. ո՛չ, չենք անում:
Անցած տարի ևս եղել է նույն պատկերը՝ մի քիչ ավել-պակասով, սակայն որևէ միջամտություն՝ կրթական մակարդակը բարձրացնելու ուղղությամբ չի արվել, հակառակ պարագայում այս տարի ավելի տխուր վիճակագրություն չէինք ունենա: Թող հազար անգամ ինձ ների արձակուրդը վայելող կրթության նախարար Արմեն Աշոտյանը, բայց իրենց ժամանակը սուրճ ֆռթացնելով սպառող դպրոցի տնօրենների մեջ մասը անցած տարվա ցուցանիշից հետո պետք է պատասխանատվության ենթարկվեին, որպեսզի զօր ու գիշեր հետևեին իրենց աշակերտների ուսումնառության ընթացքին, ոչ թե շարունակեին ևս մեկ տարի սուրճ սպառել և հանրությանը ներկայանալ առավել խայտառակ դեմքով...
