Հայ ժողովրդի համար մեծ մխիթարություն է, որ տարբեր ազգեր, պետություններ ճանաչում են Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը: Հայ ազգին ոգևորում ու գոտեպնդում է այն, որ Հռոմի Սրբազան քահանայապետը բարձրաձայնեց այդ ճշմարտությունը: Այս մասին հայտնել է Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը «Ալ Մայադին» հեռուստաընկերությանը տված հարցազրույցում:

«Բնական է, որ եկեղեցին պետք էճշմարտությունը բարձրաձայնի: Եվ մենքուրախ էինք, երբ Վատիկանում Հռոմիպապը պատմական ճառ արտասանեց`ասելով, որ վերքը պետք է վիրակապվի, որչարյունահոսվի: Նույն ոգով նա Հայոցցեղասպանության մասին խոսեց այստեղ`Հայաստանում: Մենք հավատում ենք, որՍրբազան քահանայապետի խոսքերնարձագանք կգտնեն մարդկանցհոգիներում, և տարբեր ժողովուրդներ, պետություններ կգան միանալու Հռոմի պապին` դատապարտելու Հայոցցեղասպանությունը, որպես 20-րդ դարի գործված առաջին ոճիր մարդկության դեմ, այդ ճանապարհովկանխարգելելու հետագայում նման ոճրագործությունները, որը տեսնում ենք նաև մեր օրերում առանձին ազգերինկատմամբ»,-ասել է Գարեգին Բ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը:

Անդրադառնալով Հռոմի պապի այցին Հայաստան` Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը նշեց, որ Սրբազան քահանայապետի այցը Հայաստան ծրագրված էր դեռևս 2014 թվականին: Ներկայացվել է առաջարկ այն մասին, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցի կապակցությամբ  համատեղ աղոթք բարձրացվի Վատիկանում, այնուհետև Էջմիածում: Նա պատարագ մատուցեց Վատիկանի Սուրբ Պետրոս տաճարում և այս օրերին հնարավոր եղավ, որ Հռոմի պապն այցելի Հայաստան և միասնաբար աղոթք բարձրացվի առ Աստված` մաղթելով ամբողջ աշխարհին խաղաղություն:

«Հայցելով, որ նման ոճիրներ մարդկային կյանքում տեղ չգտնեն, ազգերը, պետություններն ապրեն խաղաղության մեջ, համագործակցության սիրո ոգով: Սա եկեղեցու հոգևոր առաքելություններից է` ջանքեր գործադրել, որ բարեկամության ոգին զորանա աշխարհի մարդկության մեջ: Եվ ինչպես մարգարեի խոսքը բարձրացվեց այն մասին, որ սուսերներից խոփեր ձուլվեն և մարդիկ չսովորեն միմյանց դեմ պատերազմել, այլ խաղաղությունը տիրի աշխարհում, մարդկությունն ապրի խաղաղության մեջ»,-հավելեց Գարեգին Բ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը:

ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի, Ամենայն հայոց Գարեգին Բ կաթողիկոսի և Կաթոլիկ եկեղեցու հրավերով հունիսի 24-26-ըՀայաստան այցելեց Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսը: Հայաստան այցելության ժամանակ Հռոմի Ֆրանցսիկոս Պապն այցելեց Մայր Աթոռ,Գյումրի, Երևան, Էջմիածին, իսկ Խոր Վիրապում՝ հայ- թուրքական սահմանին, աղավնիներ բաց թողեց երկինք՝ ի նշանխաղաղության:
