«Իրավունք» թերթը գրում է․ «Ոստիկանության ՊՊԾ գնդի գրավման ժամանակ զոհված գնդապետ Արթուր Վանոյանի հուղարկավորման ժամանակ Երեւանի նախկին փոխոստիկանապետ, նույն գնդի եւ Արթուրի նախկին հրամանատար ու ընկեր Ռոբերտ Մելքոնյանն այս խոսքերով ներկայացրեց իր զոհված ընկերոջը. «Արթուրի մասին կարելի է երկար խոսել եւ միայն դրական բնորոշումներ տալ. արտակարգ անձնավորություն, լավ ոստիկան, նվիրված ընկեր, արցախյան ազատամարտին նվիրված մասնակից: Եղել է իմ տեղակալը գնդի հրամանատար եղած ժամանակ»:

Եվ, անդրադառնալով μուն այդ հարձակմանը, մեր զրուցակիցը այս կարծիքը հայտնեց. «Ես միանշանակ դատապարտում եմ իրենց արարքը: Դա քաղաքական պայքարի ճանապարհ չէ, դրանով ապացուցեցին, որ իրենք քաղաքականության հետ ոչ մի աղերս չունեն: Եթե նրանք փորձում էին իշխանափոխության հասնել, ինչպես իրենք են ասում, ապա դրա համար կան քաղաքական պայքարի լուրջ միջոցներ: Սակայն զինված ոստիկանական ստորաբաժանումը գրավելով եւ սպային իր պարտականությունների կատարման ընթացքում զոհ տալով` ոչ մի բանի չեն կարող հասնել: Ես դատապարտում նման արարքը եւ գտնում եմ տվյալ պարագայում միակ ելքը զենքը հանձնելը եւ իրավապահներին հանձնվելն է: Այլ հանգուցալուծում այս իրավիճակում ես չեմ տեսնում ու, կարծում եմ, որ նրանք, ի վերջո, կգիտակցեն, սթափ կգտնվեն եւ կտեսնեն, որ այլ ճանապարհ չկա:

Ըստ Ձեզ, ինչո՞ւ հենց ՊՊԾ գունդը գրավեցին:

Ես եղել եմ ՊՊԾ գնդի հրամանատար եւ, ըստ իս, նրանք գրավեցին ՊՊԾ գունդը, քանի որ դա հենց այն ստորաբաժանումն է, որը մշտապես քաղաքական տարբեր իրավիճակներում կանգնած է ծայրահեղական ուժերի դիմաց եւ հասարակական կարգի պահպանություն է իրականացնում: Կարծում եմ, հենց սա է պատճառը, որ նրանք գրավեցին հենց ՊՊԾ գունդը»:
