«Հրապարակի» հետ զրույցում «Սասնա ծռերի» անդամ Վարուժան Ավետիսյանը քննադատել է հուլիսի 22-ին Խորենացի փողոցում ծավալված իրադարձություններում ԱԺ ընդդիմադիր պատգամավոր ՆԻկոլ Փաշինյանի դերակատարությունը:«Ճիշտ բան չի արել պարոն Փաշինյանը, փորձել է փաստորեն, առանց երկմտելու կարող եմ ասել, որ փորձել է օգտագործել բարձրացող ժողովրդական շարժումը իր անձնական, կուսակցական նեղ շահերը սպասարկելու համար, ինչը դատապարտելի երևույթ է: Հուսով եմ այսուհետ պարոն Փաշինյանը ձեռնպահ կմնա նման քայլեր կատարելուց», - ասել է նա :

Հուլիսի 20-ի երեկոյան ու լույս 21-ի գիշերը Խորենացի փողոցում բախման հետևանքով տուժել է 51 անձ, 26-ը՝ ոստիկան: 136 մարդ բերման է ենթարկվել: Բախումները սկսվել են Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի՝ հատվածից հեռանալուց հետո, և դադարել, երբ պատգամավորը վերադարձել ու բանակցություններ էր վարել ցուցարարների, ոստիկանների ու «Սասնա ծռերի» հետ: Հաջորդ օրը՝ հուլիսի 21-ին Փաշինյանը հայտարարել է, որ ընթացող բողոքի ակցիան ղեկավարելու կամ կոորդինացնելու որևէ հավակնություն չունի ու ինչպես նախկինում, այդպես էլ այժմ պնդում է ճգնաժամի խաղաղ հանգուցալուծման անհրաժեշտությունը: «Եթե մարդիկ գտնում են, որ իմ ներկայությունը վնասում է իշխանափոխության իրականացմանը, ուրեմն սրանից հետո Խորենացի փողոցում կլինեմ այն դեպքում, երբ ցուցարարները դրա անհրաժեշտությունը տեսնեն... երեկվա իրադարձություններից և դրան հաջորդած մեկնաբանություններից հետո ես կոնկրետ ինձ համար, մեզ համար անելիք չեմ տեսնում», - ասել է նա:

Հուլիսի 22-ին նա հայտարարել է, որ կմիանա Խորենացի փողոցում ժողովրդին, ու երեկոյան ժամը 20:00-ին ելույթով է հանդես եկել ժողովրդի առաջ, որում ասել է, որ պաշտպանում է Սերժ Սարգսյանի հրաժարականի պահանջն ու պատրաստ է ստանձնել խաղաղ ցույցերի կազմակերպման ընթացքը:
