Թուրքիայում պետական հեղաշրջման փորձի օրը Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի ինքնաթիռը չեն խոցել այն պատճառով, որ ապստամբների գրաված կործանիչը ստիպված է եղել վերադառնալ վերալիցքավորման համար: Այս մասին հայտնում է Lenta.ru-ն` վկայակոչելով թուրքական լրատվամիջոցները, մասնավորապես` Yeni Safak իշխանամետ պարբերականը:

Հուլիսի 16-ի գիշերը նախագահ Էրդողանը կոչ էր արել երկրի բնակիչներին դուրս գալ փողոցներ` պայքարելու ապստամբների դեմ: Կոչ անելուց հետո նա հեռացել էր Մարմարիս առողջարանային քաղաքի հյուրանոցից և ուղևորվել Դալամանի օդանավակայան և այնտեղից մեկնել Ստամբուլ:

Նախագահի թռիչքի երթուղին փոփոխության է ենթարկվել, երբ հայտնի է դարձել,  որ մի շարք F-16 կործանիչներ, որոնք ղեկավարում էին ապստամբները, փոխել են   ընթացքի ուղղությունը: Մոտ կես ժամ Էրդողանի օդանավը պտտվում էր երկնքում` անվտանգության նպատակով:

Այդ պահին Ստամբուլի երկնքում գտվող կործանիչներից մեկը Էրդողանի ինքնաթիռը գրավելու ուղղություն էր վերցրել, սակայն այն պահին, երբ Էրդողանի Gulfstream-ը հայտնվել էր հրթիռակոծման համար հասանելի հեռավորությամբ, կործանիչի վառելիքն սպառվել է, և այն ետ է շրջվել:
