Բրազիլիայի Սենատը քվեարկել Է նախագահի պաշտոնից ժամանակավորապես հեռացված Դիլմա Ռուսեֆի պաշտոնազրկման ընթացակարգն սկսելու օգտին: Որոշումն ընդունվել Է ձայների պարզ մեծամասնությամբ. 59 սենատոր կողմ Է քվեարկել, 21-ը՝ դեմ, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով BBC-ին:

Ռուսեֆի իմպիչմենտի քննարկումն սկսվել Էր օգոստոսի 9-ի երեկոյան եւ շարունակվել գիշերը: Քվեարկության առարկա Էր դարձել սենատոր Անտոնիու Անաստասիայի զեկույցը, որում նա շարադրել Է Ռուսեֆին ներկայացվող մեղադրանքները եւ իմպիչմենտի օգտին բերվող փաստարկները:

Ռուսեֆի պաշտոնազրկումը պաշտպանելու Սենատի որոշումը սպասելի Էր: Երեքշաբթի երեկոյան նման հանձնարարական Էր տվել պալատի՝ իմպիչմենտի հարցով զբաղվող կոմիտեն:
