Մեր օրերում բանահյուսական ամեն մի պատառիկ գրանցելը բանահավաքները գիտական լուրջ հաջողություն են համարում: Գիտությունների ազգային ակադեմիայի գիտակրթական միջազգային կենտրոնում իրականացվող »Արդի հայ հեքիաթի հիմնախնդիրները» գիտահետազոտական ծրագրի անդամներ Նվարդ Վարդանյանը, Ալվարդ Սեմիրջյանը և Նարինե Վարդանյանը մեկ տարվա ընթացքում 39 հեքիաթ են գրանցել, արձանագրել որակական նոր փոփոխություններ: Մասնագետները սա գիտական լուրջ հաջողություն են համարում, մանավանդ որ այն երիտասարդ ուժերի միջոցով է իրականացվել: Բանահավաքները փաստում են, որ ժողովրդական հեքիաթների ավանդական նյութին այսօր տիրապետում է հիմնականում ավագ սերունդը, ինչն էլ տանում է հեքիաթասացության աստիճանական մարման: Բանասիրական գիտությունների թեկնածու, «Արդի հայ հեքիաթի հիմնախնդիրները» գիտական խմբի ղեկավար Նվարդ Վարդանյանը փաստում է, որ ժողովրդական հեքիաթն անցումային փուլ է թևակոխել. ավանդական բանասացությունը մարում է, ավանդական նյութի փոխանցումը չի կայանում: Ըստ հեքիաթագետի ժողովրդական հեքիաթը որակական փոփոխություն է կրում, այստեղ մեծ դեր ունեն հեռուստատեսությունը, համացանցը:

Բանասիրական գիտությունների թեկնածու Ալվարդ Սեմիրջյանն էլ հետազոտողների ուշադրությունը փորձում է հրավիրել այն կարևոր հանգամանքի վրա, որ մեր օրերում հեքիաթասացներն, ովքեր հիմնականում ապրում են Հայաստանի հեռավոր գյուղերում, ապրում են սոցիալական ծանր պայմաններում, առողջական բազում խնդիրներ ունեն` նրանց համար հեքիաթ պատմելու ժամանակներ չեն:

Լեզվաբան Նարինե Վարդանյանն էլ փաստում է, որ մերօրյա հեքիաթներն արձանագրելիս կարևոր է զատորոշել գրական հեքիաթը ժողովրդական հեքիաթից և գրառված հեքիաթներ չարձանագրել:

  «Արդի հայ հեքիաթի հիմնախնդիրները» գիտահետազոտական ծրագրի անդամները բանահավաքչական նպատակներով եղել են Տավուշի, Շիրակի և Կոտայքի մարզերում: Հիմա խումբը զբաղվում է դրանց գիտական վերլուծությամբ`փորձելով բացահայտել արդի բանահյուսական և գրական հեքիաթի բանագիտական, գրականագիտական և լեզվաոճագիտական առանձնահատկությունները:

Շուտով լույս կտեսնի խմբի հավաքագրած նյութերի  և հոդվածների հեքիաթագիտական երկլեզու աշխատությունը:

«Արդի հայ հեքիաթի հիմնախնդիրները» ծրագիրն իրականացվում է Երիտասարդ գիտնականների աջակցության ծրագրի շրջանակներում:
