Тема Олимпийских игр не лишает в покое весь мир. И редакция «ОФИГЕННО» — не исключение. Буквально несколько дней назад спортсмены и мировая общественность были озадачены одним-единственным вопросом: почему 9 августа вода в бассейне, предназначенном для соревнований по водным видам спорта, вдруг позеленела? Ведь еще накануне вода была настолько прозрачной, что без искажений передавала голубизну дна водоема.

Несмотря на это в бассейне с зеленой водой даже прошли соревнования — финал по синхронным прыжкам. Британская пловчиха Тоня Коуч, что в таких условиях под водой с трудом видела свою напарницу Лоис Тоулсон.

Поначалу организаторы Олимпийских игр в Рио в недоумении разводили руки, ссылаясь на результаты тестов, которые показали, что зеленая вода «не несет угрозы здоровью спортсменов». Предполагалось, что зеленый цвет воды может быть связан с распространением водорослей или с повышенным содержанием ионов меди.

Как выяснилось позже, вода поменяла свой цвет с привычного голубого на темно-зеленый из-за падения уровня щелочи. Об этом в своем официальном заявлении сообщил представитель оргкомитета Олимпиады-2016 Мариу Андрада.

По его словам, это не может причинить никакого вреда атлетам. Андрада заверил:«Мы работаем над этим, и уровень щелочи стабилизируется. Мы надеемся, что в самое ближайшее время вода вновь будет голубого цвета».
