Այն, ինչ արեցին մեր տղաները 31-րդ օլիմպիական խաղերում, արդարև, հերոսություն կարելի է համարել… Երկար տարիների ընդմիջումից հետո վերջապես մեզ հաջողվեց «սպիտակ արջի»՝ Արթուր Ալեքսանյանի անօրինակ սխրանքի շնորհիվ Հայաստան վերադարձնել այդքան ցանկալի ու երկար սպասված օլիմպիական ոսկին, որի գինն ու արժեքը, պարզապես, անգնահատելի են:

Ինչ խոսք՝ պակաս դրվատանքի արժանի չեն նաև մեր մյուս քաջարի հայորդիները՝ Միհրան Հարությունյանը, ում կարելի է արդարև համարել չեմպիոն, անկախ ամեն ինչից, Գոռ Մինասյանը, Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը, որոնց վաստակած արծաթե մեդալները փաստում են՝ ձեռքբերումները մեզանում ամենևին էլ պատահական բնույթ չեն կրում: Այս արժանի հաղթանակների հետևում, սակայն, հարկ է նախևառաջ տեսնել այն հսկայական ճիգուջանքը, որ գործադրվել էր նախքան մեր փառահեղ հավաքականի՝ Բրազիլիա մեկնելը...

Հաղթանակներն իրականություն չէին դառնա, եթե դրանց հետևում չլիներ նախևառաջ ՀԱՕԿ նախագահ, ազգային մեծ բարերար Գագիկ Ծառուկյանի ունեցած անմիջական ներդրումը, հայկական սպորտի նկատմամբ նրա բոլորանվեր աջակցությունն ու սատարումը: Անկասկած՝ առանց այն հսկայական ներդրումների, որ վերջին տարներին Գագիկ Ծառուկյանը կատարել է հայկական սպորտում, ուղղակիորեն կբացառվեին Հայաստանի ներկայիս հաղթանակներն ու մեր նպատակներն այդպես էլ նյութական դրսևորում չէին գտնի:

Անհերքելի է՝ այնտեղ, ուր հանդիպում են հայի տաղանդն ու անձնուրաց նվիրումը, արդյունքները լինում են գերազանց. այս պարագայում հենց ականատես ենք դառնում նման իրավիճակի, որի արգասիքը դարձան այն մեդալները, որ այլևս հայ ժողովրդի սեփականությունն են: Փաստ է նաև այն, որ վերջին 20 տարիների լավագույն Օլիմպիական արդյունքներն ունենք արդեն՝ չնայած Օլիմպիական խաղերը դեռ շարունակվում են…
