1984 թ. Միջազգային Օլիմպիական Կոմիտեն հիմնել է Սպորտի արբիտրաժային դատարանը (ՍԱԴ), որը զբաղվում է սպորտային վեճերի լուծմամբ: ՍԱԴ-ի ադ հոկ (ad hoc) տրիբունալը տարբերակում է օրենքի կիրառման կանոններ և խաղի կանոններ: Օրենքի կիրառման կանոնները ենթակա են բողոքարկաման (օրինակ՝ մարզիկի որակազրկումը): Խաղի կանոնները (օրինակ, 11 մետրանոցի առկայությունը ֆուտբոլում), որպես կանոն, ենթական չեն բողոքարկման, քանի որ դրանով կխախտվեն մրցումների արդյունքների կայունությունը, և մրցումներում հաղթանակը կպայմանավորվի որոշակիորեն ոչ թե խաղի կանոններին համապատասխան առավելությամբ, այլ ավելի ճարպիկ իրավաբան ունենալով: Միայն բացառիկ դեպքերում բողոքարկման ենթակա են մրցավարների այն որոշումները, որոնք ընդունվել են կամայականորեն՝ կոպտորեն խախտելով արդար խաղի կանոնների սկզբունքը: 2004թ. Աթենքի Օլիմպիական խաղերի ժամանակ 42 կմ մրցավազքի ընթացքում, երբ վերջնակետին 5 կմ էր մնում հանդիսատեսներից մեկը հարձակվում է Բրազիլիայի ներկայացուցիչ Դե Լիմայի վրա, ով այդ պահին բոլորից առաջ էր: Միջամտությունից հետո Բրազիլացուն հաջողվում է շարունակել վազքը և գրավում է երրորդ տեղը: Դե Լիման բողոք է ներկայացնում ՍԱԴ և ստանում ոսկե մեդալ, թեև հնարավոր էր, որ մնացած 5 կմ վազքուղում այնուամենայնիվ չկարողանար պահել առավելությունը: Մեր մարզիկի նկատմամբ առերևույթ (prima facie) կամայականորեն, կոպտորեն խախտվել է արդար խաղի կանոնների սկզբունքը՝ հաշվի առնելով
1.Սպորտային մեկնաբանների բուռն արձագանքը,
2.Նախորդ մրցելույթների ժամանակ մարզիկի նկատմամբ կիրառված նվազագույնը վիճելի համանման որոշումները,

3. Մարզչական բարձրաստիճան պաշտոն զբաղեցնող անձանց կողմից կողմնակալ հայտարարությունները, եթե դրանց վերաբերյալ կան ապացույցներ, եթե ոչ, ապա մամուլում տարածված համապատասխան տեղեկատվությունը, ինչը վերահաստատում է անձնական հաշվեհարդարի կասկածները:
