Անգլիական «Մանչեսթեր Յունայթեդ»-ի գլխավոր մարզիչ Ժոզե Մոուրինյոն բացատրել է, թե ինչու Հայաստանի ֆուտբոլի ազգային հավաքականի ավագ Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանին չի ընդգրկել թիմի մեկնարկային կազմում առաջին երկու պաշտոնական խաղերում: 

«Ես շատ լավ «կարդում էիí «Լեսթեր»-ի դեմ խաղը և զգում էի, որ այդ խաղում մեզ պետք կգա Ջեսի Լինգարդի արագությունը, «Բորնմութ»-ի հետ խաղում Մատան պետք է օգներ մեծ պրեսինգ իրականացնելու գործում:

Նա կարող էր մեծ տարածություն անցնել և օգտակար լինել մեզ համար: Երկու խաղերում էլ ես որոշեցի հարձակման գծում Զլատան Իբրահիմովիչին մոտ խաղացնել Ուեյն Ռունիին, և Միկին մնաց պահեստայինների նստարանին:

Երբ մարզիչները որևէ ֆուտբոլիստ են ձեռք բերում, հետո, իրենց ընտրությունն արդարացնելու համար, այդ ֆուտբոլիստին միշտ մեկնարկային կազմում խաղադաշտ են դուրս բերում. ես այդպիսին չեմ»,- ասել է Մոուրինյոն:

Պորտուգալացի մասնագետը հավելել է, որ առաջին երկու պաշտոնական խաղերում Լինգարդը և Մատան ավելի լավ ընտրություն էին, դրա համար ինքը նման որոշում է կայացրել: 

«Ես շարունակում եմ մնալ այն մտքին, որ Մխիթարյանը սուպեր  ֆուտբոլիստ է և մրցաշրջանի ընթացքում մեզ շատ օգուտ է տալու»,- եզրափակել է Մոուրինյոն:

Անգլիայի սուպերգավաթի «Մանչեսթեր Յունայթեդ»-«Լեսթեր» խաղում Հայաստանի ազգային հավաքականի կիսապաշտպան Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանը խաղը սկսել է պահեստայինների նստարանից և խաղադաշտ է դուրս եկել միայն ավելացված ժամանակի վերջին րոպեին: Պրեմիեր լիգայի առաջին տուրում «Բորնմութ»-ի դեմ խաղում հայ ֆուտբոլիստը կրկին պահեստայինների նստարանին էր և խաղադաշտ դուրս եկավ հանդիպման 75-րդ րոպեին: 

Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանը ամառային տրանսֆերային պատուհանի ընթացքում գերմանական Դորտմունդի «Բորուսիա»-ից տեղափոխվել է «Մանչեսթեր Յունայթեդ&raqu o;: Անգլիական ակումբը հայ ֆուտբոլիստի տրանսֆերի համար վճարել է 42 միլիոն եվրո:
