6,0 մագնիտուդով առաջին ստորգետնյա ցնցումը, սեյսմոլոգների տվյալներով, տեղի Է ունեցել տեղական ժամանակով ժամը 03:36-ին (Երեւանի ժամանակով ժամը 05:36-ին): Երկրաշարժի Էպիկենտրոնը գտնվում Էր Լացիո մայրաքաղաքային մարզի Ակումոլի քաղաքի մոտ՝ 4 կիլոմետր խորության վրա: 5,4 մագնիտուդով երկրորդ ցնցումը գրանցվել Է ժամը 04:34-ին Ումբրիայի մարզում: Երկրի մակերեւույթի տատանումներ Է զգացվել Կենտրոնական Իտալիայի մի շարք քաղաքներում, այդ թվում՝ Հռոմում եւ Բոլոնիայում: Ավերածություններ են գրանցվել Իտալիայի Լացիոյի, Ումբրիայի եւ Մարկի մարզերում: Առավել տուժեÕ ¬ են լեռնային տեղանքում գտնվող բնակավայրերը՝ Ամատրիչեն, Պեսկար դել Տրոնտոն, Ակումուլին:
