Թուրքիայում ձերբակալվել են երեք նախկին դեսպանների, ովքեր կասկածվում են Ֆեթուլլահ Գյուլենի շարժման հետ կապեր ունենալու մեջ:  Անկարան հուլիսի 15-ին տեղի ունեցած ռազմական հեղաշրջման փորձի կազմակերպման մեջ մեղադրում է ԱՄՆ Փենսիլվանիա նահանգում վտարանդիության մեջ բնակվող թուրք չափավոր իսլամի քարոզիչ Ֆեթուլլահ  Գյուլենին եւ նրա համակիրներին:

Ինչպես հաղորդում է Արմենպրեսը` վկայակոչելով թուրքական «Միլիեթ» թերթը, խափանման միջոցը կալանքն ընտրվելու մասին որոշումն ընդունվել է Կանադայում Թուրքիայի նախկին դեսպան Թունջայ Բաբալըի, UNESCO-ում Թուրքիայի նախկին ներկայացուցիչ Գյուրջան Բալըքի եւ Կոստա-Ռիկայում Թուրքիայի նախկին դեսպան Ալի Ֆընդըքի նկատմամբ:

Թուրքիայի ԱԳՆ ղեկավար Մեւլյութ Չավուշօղլուն ավելի վաղ հայտարարել էր, որ Ֆեթուլլահ Գյուլենի շարժման դեմ պայքարի շրջանակում թուրքական ԱԳՆ-ից հեռացվել են ավելի քան 300 աշխատակիցներ:

Մեւլյութ Չավուշօղլուն NTV հեռուստաալիքին տված հարցազրույցում ավելի վաղ նաեւ հայտնել էր, որ Ֆեթուլլահ Գյուլենի շարժմանը մասնակցության կասկածանքով հետ կանչված դիվանագետներից 32-ն անհայտ պատճառներով առանց թույլատրության չեն վերադարձել երկիր:
