Այսօր Հայաստանում՝ բժշկության ոլորտում, սեռով պայմանավորված հղիությունների ընդհատումները համարվում են հատուկ նշանակության հարց։ Խնդրի լուծման նպատակով ոլորտի մասնագետները որպես կանխարգելիչ քայլ իրականացնում են տարբեր ձևաչափի սեմինար-քննարկումներ և միջոցառումներ։ 

Սեպտեմբերի 3-ին և 10-ին «Երիտասարդ բժիշկների հայկական ասոցիացիան» Save the Childre միջազգային կազմակերպության հայաստանյան ներկայացուցչության հետ համագործակցության շրջանակներում իրականացնում է ԵՄ օժանդակությամբ իրականացվող «Պտղի սեռով պայմանավորված հղիության արհեստական ընդհատումների դեմ պայքար» ծրագիրը: 

Ուսումնասիրելով այլ երկրներում կիրառվող մեթոդներն ու դրանց արդյունավետությունը` սեմինարի մասնակիցները լսարանին ներկայացրեցին խնդրի լուծման հնարավոր տարբերակներ։ 

Սեմինարի ընթացքում սեռով պայմանավորված հղիության արհեստական ընդհատումների ժողովրդագրական խնդիրները ներկայացրեց ԵԲՀԱ գիտահետազոտական ծրագրերի ղեկավար Ինեսա Չիլինգարյանը: Հղիության արհեստական ընդհատումները մասնագիտական տեսանկյունից ներկայացրեց բ.գ.թ. մանկաբարձ-գինեկոլոգ Պավել Սոցկին, իսկ հղիության արհեստական ընդհատումների հոգեբանական պատճառների մասին զեկույցով հանդես եկավ հոգեբանական գիտությունների թեկնածու, հոգեբան-խորհրդատու Իզաբելլա Ղազարյանը:

Ինչպես Orer.am-ի հետ զրույցում նշեց «Երիտասարդ բժիշկների հայկական ասոցիացիայի» ներկայացուցիչ Գոհար Անտոնյանը, սեռով պայմանավորված հղիությունների ընդհատումները եղել ու մնալու են ասոցիացիայի զարկերակային հարցերից այնքան ժամանակ, մինչ դրական տեղաշարժ կգրանցվի. «Մենք կարևորում ենք ծնելիության աճը Հայաստանում, ուստի դեմ ենք արտահայտվում պտղի սեռով պայմանավորված հղիության արհեստական ընդհատումներին։ Առաջին անգամ չէ, որ «Երիտասարդ բժիշկների հայկական ասոցիացիան» բարձրաձայնում է խնդրի մասին։ Իրականացնելով գլոբալ ծրագրի մի մասը այս պրոեկտի շրջանակներում ներգրավել ենք թեմայից տեղեկացված ու բանիմաց մասնագետներին՝ մասնագիտական փորձով կիսվելու, ինչպես նաև համաշխարհային բժշկության հետ զուգահեռներ անցկացնելու ու վերլուծություններ անելու համար։ Հույս ունենք, որ բժիշկների ակտիվ համագործակցությունը կտա իր պտուղները»։
