 Աշխատանքային այցով Ուրուգվայում գտնվող ՀՀ ԱԺ փոխնախագահ, Հայաստան-Ուրուգվայ պատգամավորական բարեկամական խմբի ղեկավար Էդուարդ Շարմազանովի գլխավորած պատվիրակությունը, որի կազմում են ԱԺ պատգամավորներ Սուքիաս Ավետիսյանը եւ Միքայել Մանուկյանը, սեպտեմբերի 8-ին հանդիպում է ունեցել Ուրուգվայի Արեւելյան Հանրապետության արտաքին գործերի նախարար Ռոդոլֆո Նին Նովոայի հետ: Այս մասին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ԱԺ հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից:

ԱԺ փոխնախագահը գոհունակություն է հայտնել առ այն, որ Հայաստանն ու Ուրուգվայը միջազգային կազմակերպություններում սերտորեն համագործակցում  են, սատարում են միմյանց թեկնածությունները տարբեր ընտրություններում: Նա բարձր է գնահատել այն հանգամանքը, որ ՄԱԿ-ում Հայաստանին ուղղակիորեն առնչվող բանաձեւերի քվեարկության ժամանակ Ուրուգվայը մշտապես ցուցաբերել է հավասարակշռված մոտեցում:

Անդրադառնալով Հայոց ցեղասպանության միջազգային ճանաչման ու դատապարտման գործընթացին՝ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը նշել է, որ միջազգային հանրության կողմից Ցեղասպանության զանգվածային դատապարտումը կնպաստի մարդկության դեմ ուղղված նոր հանցանքների կանխարգելմանը: «Ցեղասպանության ճանաչման գործընթացում Ուրուգվայն ստանձնեց առաջամարտիկի դերը՝ օրինակ  ծառայելով ամբողջ աշխարհին եւ այդպիսով ցույց տալով համամարդկային արժեքներին իր հավատարիմ լինելը»,-ընդգծել է հայկական պատվիրակության ղեկավարը:

Հանդիպմանն Էդուարդ Շարմազանովն անդրադարձել է նաեւ ԼՂ հակամարտությանը: «Արցախի ժողովուրդը պետք է հնարավորություն ունենա ամբողջությամբ իրացնելու իր ինքնորոշման իրավունքը՝ հասնելով լիակատար անկախության: Բոլորը՝ այդ թվում ադրբեջանցիները, պետք է ըմբռնեն, որ ԼՂՀ-ն երբեք չի կարող լինել Ադրբեջանի կազմում: Արցախի միջազգային ճանաչումն ընդամենը ժամանակի հարց է»,-նկատել է ԱԺ փոխնախագահը:

Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը հավելել է, որ Հայաստանն ու Արցախը հիմնախնդրի հանգուցալուծումը տեսնում են միջազգային հանրության կողմից ընդունված միակ ձեւաչափի՝ ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի եռանախագահության շրջանակում:
