Նյու Յորքի Մանհեթն թաղամասում շաբաթ գիշերը տեղի ունեցած պայթյունի հետևանքով առնվազն 29 մարդ է վիրավորվել, այս մասին տեղեկացնում է  Reuters լրատվական գործակալությունը։ 

Տեղական իշխանությունները հայտարարել են, որ պայթյունը հետաքննվում է որպես «քրեական գործողություն», որն անմիջական կա չունի ահաբեկչական որևէ կազմակերպության հետ։ 

Նյու Յորքի քաղաքապետ Բիլ դե Բլասիոն հայտարարել է, որ նախնական տվյալներով՝ պայթյունը ծրագրված է եղել։ Նա նաև նշել է, որ քաղաքին «հավաստի և կոնկրետ» որևէ սպառնալիքի մասին փաստեր չկան։ 

«Մենք ահաբեկչության հետ կապ չենք տեսնում ։ Չափազանց վաղ է որոշելու համար միջադեպի պատճառը։ Կարծում ենք, որ այն միտումնավոր է արվել։ Այժմ լիարժեք հետաքննությունն է ընթանում»,– ասել է նա։


Իրավապահ մարմիններում Reuters–ի աղբյուրն ասել է, որ հետաքննության նախնական տվյալներով՝ պայթյունը տեղի է ունեցել աղբամանի մեջ, սակայն առայժմ պարզ չէ, թե ինչն է պայթյունի պատճառ դարձել։ 

Նյու Յորքի ոստիկանության հատուկ գործողությունների բաժանմունքի ղեկավարը Twitter–ում տեղեկացրել է, որ նույն տարածքում  գտնվել է «հնարավոր երկրորդ սարքը», որ կարող էր նախատեսված լինել մեկ այլ պայթյունի համար։
