Սիրիայի ճգնաժամի կարգավորմանը Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի միջամտությունը պարտության է մատնել ԱՄՆ առաջնորդ Բարաք Օբամային, The Washington Post-ում հայտնել է Ջեքսոն Դիլը:

Նշվում է, որ 2012 թվականից ի վեր Օբաման պնդում էր, որ Սիրիայում ամերիկյան զինուժի տեղակայումը կնպաստի հակամարտության կարգավորմանը, չնայած մի շարք պաշտոնատար անձինք հակառակն էին հայտարարում եւ կոչ էին անում ավիացիան օգտագործել ընդդիմադիր ուժերին սատարելու համար՝ Սիրիայի նախագահ Բաշար Ասադի դիրքերի ամրապնդում թույլ չտալու համար:

Մինչդեռ Օբաման շարունակում էր պնդել, որ ԱՄՆ միջամտությունը հակամարտությունը եւ հումանիտար ճգնաժամը միայն կսրի, նաեւ ակտիվ գործողությունների կդրդի արմատականներին:

Արդյունքում առանց ամերիկյան միջամտության էլ այդ ամենը տեղի ունեցավ, նշում է հեղինակը: Իսկ Պուտինն ապացուցեց, որ Օբամայի մերժած հայեցակարգը, որի համաձայն՝ սահմանափակ զորակազմը կարող էր էականորեն փոխել քաղաքական ելքը, իրավացի էր:

Դիլի կարծիքով՝ ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Ջոն Քերրիի եւ Ռուսաստանի արտգործնախարար Սերգեյ Լավրովի կնքած գործարքը Պուտինին տվեց այն ամենն, ինչին նա ձգտում էր Սիրիայում:

Զինադադարի շնորհիվ Սիրիայի կառավարական զորքերը կմնան Հալեպի դիքերում, իսկ ԱՄՆ-ը կմիանա Ռուսաստանին՝ Ասադին դիմակայող ծայրահեղականներին ոչնչացնելու համար:

Այդպիսով, կբավարարվի Պուտինի այն պահանջը, որ Արեւմուտքը պետք է պայքարի ահաբեկիչների, այլ ոչ թե Ասադի դեմ, նշում է հեղինակը:
