Վերջին տարիներին Հայաստանը քայլեր է ձեռնարկում էներգետիկ ոլորտի զարգացման ուղղությամբ: Նոր գործադիր մարմնի ձևավորումը ենթադրում է իրենից նաև նոր հայեցակարգ:

Հայաստանն այս ոլորտում ունի մեծ պոտենցիալ: Դրա վառ ապացույցն է էլեկտրաէներգետիկական ոլորտում կատարվող մի շարք ներդրումները: Հայաստանը այն պետություններից է, որ շարունակում էր տնտեսական հարաբերություններ պահպանել Իրանի հետ անգամ վերջիններիս նկատմամբ տնտեսական պատժամիջոցների կիրառման ժամանակաշրջանում: Երբ պատժամիջոցները հանվեցին, ստեղծվեց մեծ հնարավորություն առկա հարաբերությունները զարգացնելու համար:

Առաջին քայլերից մեկը Իրան-Հայաստան երրորդ բարձրավոլտ գծի կառուցման աշխատանքների վերսկսումն էր, որը նախատեսվում է ավարտել մինչեւ 2018 թվականը։ Այն հնարավորություն կտա եռապատկել երկու երկրների միջև գազ-էլկետրաէներգիա փոխանակումները։

Ակնկալվում է, որ շուտով պետք է մեկնարկի նաև Հայաստան-Վրաստան բարձրավոլտ նոր գծի կառուցումը, որի շինարարական աշխատանքները կսկսվեն այս տարվա վերջ:

Երկու երկրների հետ վերը նշված ծրագրերի իրականացումը թույլ կտա ձևավորել էլեկտրաէներգիայի փոխանակումների տարածաշրջանային միջանցք, որը Հայաստանը կկապի հյուսիս-հարավ ուղղությունների հետ։

Ակնկալվում է, որ Հայաստանը կարող է դառնալ տնտեսական կամուրջ Հայաստանի և Վրաստանի միջև: Այս դեպքում խոսքը գնում է Իրանից Վրաստան գազի մատակարարման մասին, որտեղ կարող են օգտագործվել մեր երկրի ենթակառուցվածքները։ Ծրագրի լրջության և իրական լինելու մասին վկայում է այն փաստը, որ փորձնական փոխանակումները պետությունների միջև արդեն իսկ կայացել են:
