 Կոլումբիայի նախագահ Խուան Մանուել Սանտոսը հոկտեմբերի 4-ի երեկոյան հայտարարել Է, Կոլումբիայի հեղափոխական զինված ուժերի (FARC) հետ  հրադադարի ռեժիմի երկարացման մասին, որի հետ հաշտության համաձայնագիրը երկրի քաղաքացիների կողմից մերժվել Էր հոկտեմբերի 2-ին անցկացված հանրաքվեի արդյունքում:

Խոսքը վերաբերում Է երկկողմ ու վերջնական հրադադարին, եւ այդ ռեժիմը գործելու Է մինչեւ հոկտեմբերի 31-ը, ճշտել Է Սանտոսը: «Հուսով եմ, որ այդ ընթացքում մենք կկարողանանք կոնկրետացնել համաձայնությունները, որոնք թույլ կտան լուծել այդ հակամարտությունը»,- Բոգոտայի նախագահական պալատից Սանտոսի արած հայտարարությունից մեջբերում Է արել El Tiempo պորտալը:

Ավելի վաղ Սանտոսը հայտարարել Էր FARC ապստամբական խմբավորման հետ երկխոսության նոր փուլ սկսելու մասին: «Ես խնդրել եմ Ումբերտո դե լա Կալեին, որի թեկնածությունը ես հաստատում եմ որպես բանակցությունների միջնորդի, ձեռնամուխ լինել բոլոր անհրաժեշտ հարցերի քննարկմանը՝ համաձայնության հասնելու եւ բոլոր կոլումբիացների երազանքը կատարելու համար, որպեսզի վերջ դրվի FARC-ի հետ պատերազմին»,- ասել Է Սանտոսը:

FARC-ի հետ կառավարության հաշտության համաձայնագրի հակառակորդները նվազագույն առավելությամբ հաղթանակ են տարել հոկտեմբերի 2-ին երկրում անցկացված հանրաքվեում: Համաձայնագրի հակառակորդները հավաքել են 50,22 տոկոս: Երկրի նախագահ Խուան Մանուեսլ Սանտոսն ընդունել Է հանրաքվեում կրած պարտությունը: Նա ընդգծել Է, որ կոլումբիական բանակի եւ FARC-ի միջեւ ավելի վաղ հայտարարված հրադադարի ռեժիմը ուժի մեջ Է մնում:  Նախագահի խոսքով՝ քվեարկությունը չի ազդի Կուլումբիայի կայունության վրա:

FARC-ի ղեկավար Ռոդրիգո Լոնդոնիո Էչեվերին հայտարարել Է, որ ձգտում Է խաղաղության՝ չնայած հաշտության համաձայնագրի շուրջ հանրաքվեի արդյունքներին: «FARC-ը հավաստում Է ապագան կառուցելու համար որպես զենք միայն խոսքերն օգտագործելու իր հանձնառությունը»,- ասել Է կազմակերպության ղեկավարը, որը գտնվում Է Կուբայի մայրաքաղաքում:

Հունիսի 23-ին Կոլումբիայի իշխանությունները եւ FARC-ը Հավանայում երկկողմ համաձայնագիր են ստորագրել հրադադարի եւ ռազմական գործողություններին վերջ դնելու մասին: Փաստաթուղթը նախատեսում Է ապստամբների զինաթափում, անվտանգության երաշխիքներ եւ պայքար հանցավոր կազսմակերպությունների դեմ, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
