Շոտլանդիայի առաջին նախարար Նիկոլա Սթերջենը հայտնել Է, որ հրապարակվել Է Մեծ Բրիտանիայից անկախության կրկնական հանրաքվեի անցկացման օրինագծի առաջին տարբերակը, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով Reuters գործակալությանը:

Չնայած այն բանին, որ Սթերջենը կրկնական հանրաքվեն «շատ հավանական» Է համարել, օրինագիծը նախեւառաջ խորհրդատվական բնույթ Է կրում եւ հանրաքվեի անցկացման ժամկետ չի սահմանում:

«Մեր կառավարությունն ընտրվել Է որոշակի խոստման պայմանով, որ խորհրդարանը հնարավորություն կունենա քննարկել հանրաքվեի տարբերակն այն դեպքում, եթե հանգամանքները արմատապես փոխվեն, օրինակ, եթե Շոտլանդիային փորձեն ԵՄ-ից կազմից դուրս բերել նրա կամքին հակառակ»,-ասված Է Սթերջենի հայտարարության մեջ:

Նախարարը նշել Է, որ օրինագծի հրապարակման պատճառ են դարձել Brexit-ի հնարավոր հետեւանքները, «ներառյալ այն վնասը, որը նա կբերի շոտլանդական տնտեսությանը եւ աշխատատեղերին»:

Բրիտանացիների մեծամասնությունը հունիսի 23-ին կայացած հանրաքվեում քվեարկել Է ԵՄ-ից դուրս գալու օգտին: Ընդսմին Հյուսիսային Իռլանդիան եւ Շոտլանդիան պաշտպանել են Եվրամիությանն անդամակցության պահպանումն այն դեպքում, երբ Անգլիան եւ Ուելսը քվեարկել են ԵՄ-ից դուրս գալու օգտին, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
