 Հարավային Կովկասում ՆԱՏՕ-ի կապի գրասենյակի ղեկավար ՈւիլյամԼահյուի համոզմամբ՝ Հայաստան-ՆԱՏՕ գործընկերությունն առ այսօր ամուր է եղել եւ շարունակելու է լինել, քանի որ այն հիմնված է փոխադարձ շահերի, Հայաստանի ազգային շահերի վրա՝ աշխատելու դաշնակիցների հետ թե՛ այդ սեփական շահերի, թե՛ գլոբալ անվտանգության ոլորտում ներդրում ունենալու համար: 

«Հայաստանի եւ ՆԱՏՕ-ի համար գործընկերություն նշանակում է աշխատել այն հարցերի շուրջ, որոնք մտահոգություն եւ հետաքրքրություն են ներկայացնում: ՆԱՏՕ-ն պետությունների միություն է, որը միասին եւ կամավոր համագործակցում է փոխադարձ անվտանգության շահերի համար: ՆԱՏՕ-ի հարաբերությունները գործընկերների հետ կամավոր համագործակցության արդյունք են, որը սեւեռվում է փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող շահերի եւ գերակայությունների շուրջ միայն:  Տարբեր ծրագրեր իրականացնելուց բացի մենք  տեղեկություններ ենք փոխանակում: Օրինակ՝ վերջերս քննա րկում ենք ունեցել  Սիրիայի շուրջ Հայաստանին հետաքրքրող խնդիրների ընդգրկմամբ: Մենք հասկանում ենք, որ Հայաստանը, լինելով համեմատաբար փոքր երկիր, Սիրիայից եկած փախստականների բավականին մեծ խումբ է ընդունել՝ մոտ 20 հազար»,- Արմենպրեսի հաղորդմամբ՝ լրագրողների հետ զրույցում ասաց նա՝ տեղեկացնելով, որ քննարկումների շրջանակում ընդգրկվել է նաեւ ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության հարցը:

Ուիլյամ Լահյուի խոսքով՝ ուղղակիորեն ներգրավված չլինելով հակամարտություններից եւ ոչ մեկում՝ ՆԱՏՕ-ն քաղաքական օժանդակություն է ցուցաբերում տարածաշրջաններում խաղաղության հաստատման ուղղությամբ աշխատող կառույցներին:

«Մենք հասկանում ենք, որ նմանօրինակ շարունակական կոնֆլիկտները ժողովրդի վրա լուրջ ազդեցություն են թողնում»,- եզրափակեց Հարավային Կովկասում ՆԱՏՕ-ի կապի գրասենյակի ղեկավարը:
