Հայաստանում Գերմանիայի արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Մաթիաս Քիսլերը ցանկալի է համարում, որ կրկին փորձ արվի հայ-թուրքական հարաբերությունները բարելավելու ուղղությամբ: Դեսպանը լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը նշել է, որ պետք է գործնական քայլեր կատարվեն` ի նպաստ երկու ժողովուրդների, պետությունների մերձեցմանը:

«Ստեղծված դժվար իրավիճակները չպետք է խոչընդոտեն նոր լուծումներ գտնելու, հարաբերությունները բարելավելու հարցում: Նախորդ անգամ խոսք էր գնում սահմանի բացման մասին:

Այսօր ես չեմ կարող ասել, թե դա որքանով է իրատեսական, սակայն որոշ խմբերի համար սահմանը կարող է մասնակի բաց լինել: Օրինակ` միջազգային զբոսաշրջիկների համար»,-ասաց դեսպանը` ընդգծելով, որ գերմանական կողմը հնարավորություններ է ստեղծում հայ և թուրք քաղաքացիական հասարակությունների շփումների համար:

Հայաստանում Գերմանիայի դեսպանն անդրադարձավ Գերմանիայի դասագրքերում Հայոց ցեղասպանության թեման ներառելու հարցին: Նա նշեց, որ Գերմանիայում կրթական, մշակութային քաղաքականությունն իրականացվում է երկրամասային մակարդակով: Հետևաբար` դպրոցական առարկաների հարցը որոշում է երկրամասային նախարարությունը:

«Ինչպես գիտեք, արդեն Սաքսոնիա-Անհալտ երկրամասը մանկավարժների համար հրատարակել է ուսումնական ձեռնարկ, թե ինչպես դասավանդել Հայոց ցեղասպանության թեման պատմություն առարկայի շրջանակում:

Այսինքն` արդեն իսկ մեկ երկրամաս կատարել է այդ քայլը, պետք է սպասել մյուս երկրամասերի արձագանքին»,-հավելեց դեսպանը:

Թուրքիան 1993թ.-ից միակողմանիորեն փակել է հայ-թուրքական սահմանը: Հայաստանը բազմիցս հայտարարել է, որ պատրաստ է հարաբերությունների բարելավման քայլերի առանց նախապայմանների:
