 Ֆրանսիայից եվրապատգամավոր Ալեն Լամասուրն իր թեկնածությունն Է առաջադրել Եվրախորհրդարանի (ԵԽ) նախագահի պաշտոնում այն բանից հետո, երբ հայտնի դարձավ 2017 թվականի սկզբին այդ պաշտոնից Մարտին Շուլցի հեռանալու մասին, տեղեկացնում Է Արմենպրեսը:

«Եվրոպան աննախադեպ ճգնաժամ Է ապրում՝ ներքին եւ արտաքին: Եվրոպական պետությունների միասնությունը դրված Է հարցականի տակ: Անհրաժեշտ են արմատական միջոցներ ԵՄ-ի երկրների միջեւ համերաշխության ամրապնդման համար: Հենց այդ խնդրին եմ ես պատրաստ նվիրելու իմ բոլոր ուժերը»,-ասված Է Լամասուրի պաշտոնական հաղորդագրության մեջ: Ֆրանսիացի եվրապատգամավորն ընդգծել Է, որ իր թեկնածությունն  առաջադրում Է Եվրոպայի ժողովրդական կուսակցությունից (Քրիստոնյա դեմոկրատներ)՝ Եվրախորհրդարանում խոշորագույն խմբակցությունից:

Այն մասին, որ ԵԽ-ի ներկայիս ղեկավար Մարտին Շուլցը կհեռանա իր պաշտոնից, հայտնի Է դարձել նոյեմբերի 24-ին: Քաղաքական գործիչն իր որոշման մասին հայտարարել Է Բրյուսելում կայացած մամուլի ասուլիսում: «Ես որոշում եմ կայացրել, ես չեմ առաջադրվելու նոր ժամկետի համար, հաջորդ տարի ես կգլխավորեմ իմ կուսակցության (Գերմանիայի սոցիալ-դեմոկրատական կուսակցության) ցուցակը Հյուսիսային Հռենոս Վեստֆալիայի դաշնային երկրամասում»,- ասել Է նա, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
