Մեկնարկել է «Հայաստանի Հանրապետական կուսակցության» 16-րդ համագումարը, որի ժամանակ ողջույնի խոսքով, ծրագրաին դրույթների ու կուսակցության հետագա աշխատանքների վերաբերյալ ելույթ ունեցավ ՀՀԿ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը: Խոսելով Սահմանադրական փոփոխությունների, քաղաքական կյանքում դրանց էֆեկտիվության մասին՝ ՀՀԿ ղեկավարը նշեց. «Նոր Սահմանադրությամբ էապես բարձարնում է կուսակցությունների դերը: Այսուհետ ինքնաբերաբար անհետանալու են մարդ կուսակցությունները: Նոր պայմաններում քաղաքական դաշտի բյուրեղացումն անխուսափելի է: Առաջին հերթին դա արտահայտվելու է կառավարող ու ընդդիմադիր բեւեռների ավելի հստակ տարանջատմամբ»,-ասաց նա:

Անդրադառնալով նաեւ ՀՀԿ-ի արտաքին կապերին ու ձեռքբերումներին՝ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հայտարարեց, որ ՀՀԿ-ի կապերն արտաքին աշխարհում ընդալայնվել են:

«Միջազգային շփումները թույլ են տալիս ծանոթանալ եւ հետեւել քաղաքական գորունեության լավագույն խորհրդին, տեխնոլոգիաներին ու առանձնահատկություններին: Շարունակվում է մեր համագործակցությունը «Միասնական Ռուսաստան» կուսակցության հետ ինչպես երկկողմ, այնպես էլ Եվրասիական շրջանակներում: Տրամադրված են լրջորեն խորացնելու համագործակցության այս ձեւաչափը»:

Լինելով եվրոպական ժողովրդական կուսակցության անդամ ՀՀԿ-ն լիարժեքորեն ներգրավված է եղել ամենախոշոր ու ազդեցիկ եվրոպական քաղաքական ընտանիքի գործունեության մեջ:

 «Այս ընթացքում մեր երիտասարդն կառույցն անդամակցել է «Երիտասարդ ԵԺԿ»-ի, «Եվրոպայի ժողովրդավար» միությանը, իսկ կանանց խորհուրդը դարձել է ԵԺԿ կանանց կազմակերպության անդամ: Հանրապետականը միշտ ներկայացված է եղել ԵԺԿ համագումարներում, գագաթնաժողովներում եւ քաղաքական համաժողովներում»:
