 Վրաստանը եւ ԱՄՆ-ը պաշտպանության եւ անվտանգության ոլորտում անցնում են համագործակցության նոր մակարդակի: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է Արմենպրեսը, հայտնել Է Վրաստանի կառավարության մամուլի ծառայությունը՝ անդրադառնալով ԱՄՆ-ի պաշտպանության փոխնախարարի օգնական Մայքլ Քարփենթերի՝ Թբիլ իսի այցին:   

«Պաշտպանության եւ անվտանգության ոլորտում Վրաստանի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի միջեւ համագործակցությունն անցնում Է նոր մակարդակի, այդ մասին նշվել Է վարչապետ Գեորգի Կվիրիկաշվիլիի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի պաշտպանության փոխնախարարի օգնական Մայքլ Քարփենթերի հանդիպմանը: Կողմերը նշել են, որ համագործակցության միանգամայն նոր շրջանակներ Է ստեղծում այն հուշագիրը, որը ձեւակերպվել Է ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղար Ջոն Քերիի՝ Վրաստան կատարած այցի ժամանակ: Կվիրիկաշվիլին հայտարարել Է, որ վրացական կառավարությունը գնահատում Է ԱՄՆ-ի աջակցությունը Վրաստանի անվտանգության ու պաշտպանունակ ության ուժեղացմանը»,-ասված Է մամուլի ծառայության հայտարարության մեջ:
