Ավանդական սեքսը ոչ միայն բավականություն է պատճառում զուգընկերներին, այլեւ անհրաժեշտ է սերնդի իմունիտետն ամրապնդելու համար։ Շոտլանդիայի Սթերլինգի համալսարանի գիտնականների խոսքով սեքսը պետք է սերնդի շարունակության համար, ու բնությունն այնպես է արել, որ սեքսի արդյունքում լույս աշխարհ եկող երեխաները պաշտպանված լինեն ինֆեկցիոն հիվանդություններից։

Այդ երեխաները նաեւ ավելի ամուր իմունիտետ են ունենում, այն երեխաների համամետ, որոնք ծնվում են բազմացման արհեստական մեթոդների օգնությամբ։

 

Իրենց հետազոտության համար բրիտանացի գիտնականներն օգտագործել են պլանկտոնային խեցգետնանման դաֆնիան, որի էգերը, պայմաններից կախված, կարող են բազմանալ թե սեռական , թե անսեռ ճանապարհով։ Վերջին տարբերակը նրանք օգտագործում են շրջակա միջավայրի վատացման դեպքում։ Փորձի արդյունքում գիտնականները համոզվել են, որ դաֆնիայի էգի ու որձի սերունդը նրանցից ավելի կատարյալ իմունիտետ է ժառանգում , քան միայն էգի սերունդը։ Սթիրլինգի համալսարանի գիտնականների կարծիքով նույն եզրակացությունները կարելի է տարածել նաեւ մարդկանց վրա։

«Թվում է , թե մինչ որձերը կռվում են էգի համար, ինքնուրույն բազմացող արարածները կարող էին գերիշխող դառնալ բնության մեջ, բայց ինչո՞ւ մենք շրջապատված չենք կլոններով։ Համեմատելով նույն էգերից ծնված դաֆնիաների սերունդը՝ մենք հայտնաբերել ենք, որ սեռական կապի արդյունքում ծնված անհատները ավելի քիչ են հիվանդանում կլոնավորվածների համեմատ։ Հիվանդությոններին դիմադրելու անհրաժեշտությունը բացատրում է, թե ինչու է սեքսը պահպանվում բնության մեջ»,- մեջբերում է BBC –ն բժիշկ Սթյուարթ Աուլդին՝ բնական գիտությունների ֆակուլտետից։

Այդ առանձնահատկության շնորհիվ սեռական բազմացումը սկսել է գերիշխել մոլորակի վրա։ Կոմոդյան վարանները, ծովաստղները , բանաններն ու այլ օրգանիզմներ, որոնք անհրաժեշտության դեպքում կարող են բազմանալ նաեւ առանց զուգընկերոջ մասնակցության, բնության մեջ աութսայդերի կարգավիճակում են հայտնվել, էլ չասենք այն տեսակների մասին, որոնք վաղուց վերացել են ու մինչեւ մեր օրեր չեն գոյատեւել։ Գենետիկ միատեսակությունը նրանց թույլ չի տվել հարմարվել շրջակա միջավայրի փոփոխություններին։
