ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարությունն ամփոփել է զինված ուժերում մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության ապահովման ուղղությամբ կատարված աշխատանքները:  Քննարկման մեկնարկին ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Վիգեն Սարգսյանն իր խոսքում կարևորեց զինված ուժերում մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության ապահովման հարցում Օմբուդսմենի  հետ աշխատանքը: 

«Մեր կարևոր գործառույթներից է բանակում մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպաքնության ապահովումը, և այդ հարցում մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանի գրասենյակի հետ աշխատանքը տալիս է իր արդյունքը»,-  նշեց նախարարը` շնորհակալություն հայտնելով բոլոր այն անձանց, ովքեր աջակցել են նախարարությանը բանակում մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության ոլորտում  խնդիրները վեր հանելու և դրանց լուծման ուղղությամբ քայլեր ձեռնարկելու հարցում:

ՀՀ մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպան Արման Թաթոյանն էլ ընդգծեց, որ զինված ուժերում մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության ապահովման ուղղությամբ պահանջվում է մասնագիտական սկզբունքներին համապատասխան սրտացավ աշխատանք: 

«Հենց դրա համար էլ նախարարությունում  ստեղծվել է զինծառայողների իրավունքների պաշտպանության մասնագիտացված ստորաբաժանում, ինչի արդյունքում զինծառայողների առողջական վիճակի, բժշկական փորձաքննության, սոցիալական իրավունքների հետ կապված անհատական բողոքների հիման վրա կարողանում ենք համակարգային հարցեր վեր հանել»,- ասաց Թաթոյանը։ 

Օմբուդսմենը խոսեց նաև միջազգային կառույցների հետ համագործակցության անհրաժեշտություն մասին` ընդգծելով, որ հարկավոր է ուսումնասիրել միջազգային փորձը, հասկանալ, թե ինչպես են այլ երկրներում լուծվում զինված ուժերում մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության հետ կապված խնդիրները:  Արման Թաթոյանը հայտնեց, որ ՄԻՊ գրասենյակում ստեղծվել է զինծառայողների իրավունքների հարցերով փորձագիտական խորհուրդ: Նա նաև ասաց, որ գրասենյակը պատրաստակամ է զինծառայողների իրավունքների յուրաքանչյուր խախտման նկատմամբ բացարձակ անհանդուրժողականություն ցուցաբերելու հարցում։ 

ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Վիգեն Սարգսյանը կարևորեց խորհրդի ստեղծումը և նշեց, որ մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության ոլորտը երկու հատկություն ունի, առաջինը՝ սիստեմատիկ խախտումների միջավայրի փոփոխությունն է, որ կրկնվող խախտումներ չլինեն և երկրորդը՝ քաղաքացիական հասարակության և բանակի միջև մշտական կապի ապահովումը: 

«Առաջին շահագրգիռ մարմինը պաշտպանության նախարարությունն է, որ քաղաքացին զինված ուժերում իրեն զգա ամուր և պաշտպանված, քանի որ միայն այդ դեպքում քաղաքացին կարող է արդյունավետ պաշտպանել իր երկիրը»,-հավելեց նախարարը:
